HEATED EXCHANGES After Film Canceled (Bush Veteran Grabs Kerry Veteran!!! Yay!)

Heated exchanges after film canceled By JODI ARTHUR Bucks County Courier Times

Police had to separate two war veterans after one grabbed the other by the neck Tuesday as tempers flared outside Abington's Baederwood Theater following the cancellation of a premiere showing of a film critical of Sen. John Kerry's anti-war testimony.

Frustrated by the theater's decision, several prospective viewers of "Stolen Honor, Wounds that Never Heal" got into shouting matches with opponents of the documentary.

Among them was Joanne Dalbey of Warrington. "My rights as an American were denied," she said. "Soldiers are dying for my right to choose what movie I want to see."

Dalbey was one of about 50 people who showed up at the theater on The Fairway. Some were there to get copies of the movie on DVD or videotape from filmmaker Carlton Sherwood, who was autographing them, and some were there to protest it. Others arrived unaware that the showing had been canceled.

Of course it does, and I wholeheartedly agree. The film should be shown. It's just that juxtaposing the image of a dying marine with the right to watch a movie strikes me as....inappropriate. It's like saying that soldiers are dying for our right to stay up late and watch Letterman.

It's not the aim that offends me, it's the delivery.

From some who were there, this was not at all unprovoked, either. The Kerryite had been harassing everyone he could. Finally someone fought back.

Yesterday, on another thread where this picture was displayed, me and some other freepers were lamenting that it always seems like Democrats are beating up Republicans. It makes us look weak. Personally, I am gratified that for once it is a Republican showing some passion and some guts and grabbing a Democrat by the throat. It makes me smile. It could just be a man thing....

I live about a 20-minute drive from that theater.
I really wish I had known about this because I would have gone over there.

He's right.

This theater owner just gave in to POLITICAL TERRORISM.

NOW you can expect more if it.

I'm telling you right now.

If the Dems steal the election and Kerry becomes president,

There is going to be a revolution.

I'm about that far away as well and I really wish I had gone over last night. I had been planning to go with my father (a Vietnam Vet who, though otherwise calm, swears like a sailor when talking about Kerry) and we were both disappointed at the cancellation.

Two interesting notes:

1. I heard the theater had not realized what they were agreeing to show when the event was booked and were looking for an excuse to get out of it. Rat Bastards!

2. The Professor who is filing suit for defamation is represented by James Beasley. If you listen to 1210 AM, Michael Smerconish's law practice is with the Beasley firm. Basically, Beasley is his boss. I missed his show this morning, so I didn't get to hear if he discussed this.

The Professor who is filing suit for defamation is represented by James Beasley.

That would be a very interesting development, considering that Beasley died last month. Perhaps you meant that he is being represented by Beasley's law firm...

Not yay. Violence is a sad debate tactic and simply pointing out their stupidity should have been enough.

My gut tells me the Bush supporter contained himself from the punishment that pro-commie scum deserved.

"But, I think our soldiers are dying for something a little more important than, "our right to watch movies".

It's more than that, of course. It's our right to CHOOSE which movies we want to see. How dare they say I cannot see this movie and then threaten me with violence if I try.

The liberals spit on our soldiers who are dying to protect our GOD-given rights by saying they're dying for nothing and then deny us those very rights by using terrorist-like tactics.

I completely understand how good people are having their patience pushed to its limits. That Korean veteran had his hand around that Vietnam vet's throat for me too.

There IS such a thing as righteous anger - and baby I'm there!!!

My Bad.

Reading through all the news this morning too quickly.

He is represented by James Beasley, Jr.

Funny note - I'm a Temple Law School grad, and I graduated the year Beasley made his big donation to get his name in lights (so to speak). I remember a group of us in the Registrar's office cringing as we opened the envelopes our diplomas were in, praying to God that they said "Temple University School of Law" instead of "James E Beasley School of Law." Luckily it said Temple.

Ping to post 28.
Did you hear what Smerconish said about this? I missed it, too.

No, I didn't catch Michael's show ..

But I did find this written by Michael

http://www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/5599583.htm

The trial lawyer is James Beasley Jr. of the Beasley Firm in Center City who was the first lawyer in this country to file a wrongful-death suit in the aftermath of 9/11.

Beasley, acting on behalf of two families of people who died at Ground Zero, initially named as defendants the usual suspects: bin Laden, al Qaeda, the Taliban, certain Afghans. But he amended his federal court case more than a year ago to include Iraq and Saddam Hussein.

Ahhhh... You must be one of those "violence is never justified types"

This wasn't a debate nor should it have been. It was a group of individuals going to see a movie they wanted to watch.

The dem tactics of intimidation and election fraud justify any violence that is committed against them. Violence in and of itself is NOT stupid or dishonorable, only the MOTIVE and agenda behind it can be. The motives behind the well documented liberal violence against conservatives are dishonorable and repugnant. Conservatives fighting back against the intimidation and election fraud is HONORABLE. I also believe it is our DUTY to ensure the defeat of the leftist thugs by any means necessary.

Ill say it again. Violence, as an act, is a TOOL for either GOOD or EVIL. To denounce violence in all forms is foolish and ill informed.
