I am so with you!!!
I have to call my best friend up(since 83). We were complete and total Duranies. I feel like calling her up and yelling like a kid again like we used to when the newest Tiger Beat came out--LOL. She disapoints me though not mentioning this.
Music group Duran Duran poses at The Sony Club in New York, Oct. 12, 2004. From left are Roger Taylor, Nick Rhodes, Andy Taylor, Simon Le Bon and John Taylor. (Jim Cooper / AP)
Actually my first date ever was back in 8th grade when I took some girl to a Duran Duran concert at Nassau Colosseum. Unfortunately for me then her father had to come with us, Though If I ever run into that poor guy again I'm really going to apologize for making him go through that

You can dance!
You can dance!
Everybody look at your pants!
"The Cars" is one of the most underappreciated bands ever from that time.
I thought Stuart Adamson beautiful at the time...
"Girls on Film" was the first hit, wasn't it??
I see you like the instrumentals... and glad to see I'm not alone in liking the 'Reflex' album! I don't know anyone that did until now! "New Moon on Monday" was always great, I thought.
That's them...the first Kerry/Edwards ambiguously gay duo. :-)
Hey, don't knock Duran Duran 'til you've listened to them. :)
They never went away. They had a couple of big hits in the 90s. In fact, Ordinary World is one of their biggest ones.
It's nice to have the original line-up back but I miss the guitarist that they'd had since 86.
As for their being political, google for the lyrics to their "song" called "God"
It was a bit on the political side & it was a b-side from the late 80s (88 or 89)
Anyway, I'm happy to see them still going. seeing the original 5 in concert is an amazing experience & I can't wait to do it again.
I swear to God...I think the Austin Powers writers got the idea for Mini Me from the midget in that video. ;-) lol
Reminds me. If only they'd bring back the 'Keen Eddie' program. Best TV show I've seen in a long time.
I just read this about Softcell's Marc Almond being in a serious accident:
