I'll tell you why I don't think it's an attempt to take down Kerry for Hellary in 2008

The liberals have been over riding Congress and changes the rules/laws through the Courts

The liberals can't afford to wait till 2008 and Hellary and(IMO) the reason why we are seeing the Clinton Goons take over Kerry's Campaign is because of the Swiftboat Vets and POW's seriously damaged Kerry

Then add in how President Bush has been hammering Kerry over his record in the Senate for the las 20 years and people start rethinking about Kerry .. folks don't trust Kerry
