Yeah the liberal elites seem to always forget that part. Probably makes them feel better about themselves.
They also try to over look the segregationist Democrats who were raising the confederate flag over the statehouses in the south as a symbol of segregation.
I find it curious that the Democrats of today race bait with the notion that Republicans were the segregation party. I suspect the real intent of this 'intellectual writer' is to further that notion.
