No, he's NOT David's son. (I used to think so too, but someone corrected me.)

David's son is a professor at one of the NY universities, his name is Alan.

Though I believe these 2 branches of Brinkleys are related, from what I found on some genealogy board. The 2 branches both come out of one of the Carolinas, and seem to be descended from the same ancestor, from what I could tell.

That's why I thought Douglas was a son of David, they look somewhat similar, but they seem to be distant cousins.

Saw Brinkley on C-Span Sunday night. He believes Kerry's personal papers and diary are gospel.
In Tour Of Duty, Brinkley quotes Kerry, " I got a piece of small grenade in my ass from one of the rice-bin explosions". This was March 13,1969, the same day that Kerry later requested a Purple Heart for the action where James Rassmann went into the river and was rescued by Kerry.
Supposed wound?....localized bruising of upper-left buttock!
The rice-bin explosions were caused by Kerry and Rassmann throwing grenades! SELF-INFLICTED!
Evidently, Brinkley sees no problem with Kerry's diary.
Without this third Purple Heart, Kerry would have had to finish his TOUR in Vietnam.
Who was AWOL and who does Brinkley think he is fooling?

Still waiting for Brinkley's New Yorker article proving Kerry was "near" Cambodia in 1968...

Who's the interviewer? Will they ask him the Cambodia question? Why Kerry hasn't relesed his records?

and Kerry's own spot report places the "shrapnel" injury to the time of the Rassman incident, allegedly from a mine that exploded.

an injury from that incident would have qualified for a PH. Kerry lied to bug out of Vietnam.

Tour Of Duty also claims that Kerry quit the VVAW on November 10,1971, several days before the Kansas City assasination meeting. Investigative reporter Tom Lipscomb asked Brinkley who had told him that Kerry was not at the Kansas City meeting where the VVAW discussed, and voted on, killing six U.S.Senators. Answer......Kerry himself.
Witnesses and the FBI placed Kerry at the meeting!
And yet, Brinkley claims Kerry is the one that is being truthful!
Brinkley is defending Brinkley!

It was evidently a brief segment. Waltripp was supporting President Bush and Blitzed started in with, but but but....and I heard Waltripp say that he wasn't there to tear down Kerry. He was there to say that despite Kerry's wrong war at the wrong time WE HAD THE RIGHT MAN AT THE RIGHT TIME FOR THE RIGHT WAR. He said he was supporting President BUSH.

He was quite stern and unsmiling.

Wish I had seen it all but just stumbled on it near the end of the segment.
