I didn't write clearly, I meant that the mayor said the Youngstown area usually votes 70% Democrat...not the state of Ohio as a whole. The mayor found it very odd Kerry would be returning specifically to Youngstown, which *should* be a waste of Kerry's time in these last two weeks.

I was born and raised in Youngstown and while it's a Democratic stronghold, I wonder if there might be a little movement to President Bush there. While it's a very fiercely blue collar and pro-union, but the fact of the matter is that the area has been economically depressed beginning 30 years ago with the decline of the steel mills.

I also know there are a fair amount of Vietnam Veterans in northeastern Ohio/Western PA and I'm not sure if any post vote polls will get that specific, but I'd bet Kerry will get less votes statistically than he "should."

By the way, regarding the "Mr. Limbaugh", Mayor McKelvey is just an old school (although not old) respectful guy that wouldn't presume to call someone by their first name. I've met the Mayor on various occasions and he's a first class guy, although I must admit, he's being pilloried by many back home. He joins Senator Zell Miller and Mayor Ed Koch as people who vote their conscience and not party lines, something we need more of, one all sides.
