CNS News reported in August: Kerry, meanwhile, has orchestrated campaign stops in an effort to appeal to gun owners. With a gun in hand, he staged events at Wisconsin's Gunslick Trap Club in July and on the Iowa plains in October.'' (1)
Imagine the most anti-gun presidential candidate in Americas history putting on hunting gear and posing before cameras, all the while telling us what a hunter he is. That is exactly what John Kerry has done, so now it is time to stop using your imagination and swallow a dose of reality, if you happen to be a gun owner or simply a supporter of the right of Americans to bear arms for sport or personal defense, who still believes John Kerry represents you.
As a senator, John Kerry has consistently voted against gun rights. Had all the bills passed that he voted for, we would effectively have a firearms ban comparable to those in Australia or England. (2) In addition, Kerry supports taxing ammunition, and has voted to close off public lands to hunters. (3)
An article on NewsMax discusses legislative bias towards taxing hunters equipment to support wildlife conservation, not to mention licenses, permits, and stamps required for hunting and fishing, while not applying a similar tax on equipment for other recreational users of the same open spaces. With Kerry in office, this legislative momentum bodes ill for the future of hunting. (4)
Combine this with who endorses John Kerry for president:
v The Brady Campaign and Million Mom March are both virulently anti-gun organizations. (5)
v Humane USA is an umbrella Political Action Committee composed of many pro-animal organizations. (6) They even have web page dedicated to helping people elect pro-animal candidates. (7)
Does this sound like hunter support to you?
Foreign national and financial arbitrager George Soros funds MoveOn.org (8), an organization whose PAC contains many links to articles against President Bush and in favor of John Kerry. (9)
Rebecca Peters is a grantee of Soros Open Society Institute. (11) She turned her junk science into the master plan for disarming Australia, which has seen crime doubled.
(10) She showed up in the US during the sniper murders in Maryland and Virginia, using the tragedy caused by two murdering psychopaths to push her gun ban agenda. (12) Ms. Peters is director of International Action Network on Small Arms, an advocacy group that is working with the UN to ban civilian firearms. (13)
If you still have any doubts about George Soros views on civilian firearms ownership, read his paper entitled Gun Control In the United States. (14) It contains the usual claims by the gun ban community about why law-abiding gun owners are responsible for violence performed by criminals. For example:
v Legal gun owners are responsible for the illegal gun market. (15)
v National gun licensing and registration as a tool to reduce illegal gun sales. (16) Historically, registration always led to civilian disarmament.
Other supporters of John Kerry include the Communist Party USA. Their site contains an article entitled Top Ten Reasons to Defeat Bush. (17) While they are not running their own candidate, one can conclude that Kerry is their candidate by proxy, as they have refrained from fielding their own candidate so as not to
distract from the main effort of defeating Bush. (18) Communism has a consistent history of first disarming, and then murdering its subjects, over 100 million murdered in the 20th century. (19)
If you still think Kerry can be trusted with your guns, view a video that shows how he changes his position on important issues, and that his word has no value. (20)
It seems to be a commonly held belief that the Democratic party supports the little people. History teaches us that when governments disarm the populace, it is these same little people who suffer the most, because the rulers have an abundance of armed protection and power, and thats all they care about. Therefore, a vote for Kerry is a vote against the average American. The Democratic party has deserted its traditional base in its quest for absolute power.
Perhaps the most chilling aspect about this is that because hunters supported prejudicial taxation in the past, the Kerry campaign believes it can garner the support of hunters and other gun owners to get elected, and then turn around and pass more anti-gun, anti-hunting legislation. Dont vote for somebody who will use your support against you. Our best hope as gun owners is to re-elect President Bush.

Is there anyone who actually believes that he supports firearms owners?
Blue-collar union members, I gather.
The same dupes that Clinton fooled.
I don't want to be around these dupes if they have a gun in their hands.
BTTT
As opposed to Bush who understands the Second Amendment, and favors ignoring it? According to GWB we need the governments permission to exercise our inalienable RKBA. See the quote in my tagline.
I detect a 3rd party voter. In case you're not, then what appears below is for those who are leaning in that direction.
While I share your dismay at Bush's lack of purity on the issue of the 2nd Amendment (and a host of other issues, I might add), in this very political season we need to look realistically at the alternatives:
First there's Bush - he signed CHL legislation in TX in '95, thereby providing a mechanism for approximately 250,000 Texans to carry concealed (as well as just about anyone else who cares to apply and take the requisite 1-day class); he appointed the only Attorney General in the last 2 generations who had the b@lls to publicly state that the RKBA was an individual, not collective, right (and thereby almost gave Ted Kennedy a seizure on national television); he told the UN to shove it regarding a worldwide agreement to register small arms and restrict the trade in them; and 4) he allowed the AWB to be repealed without lifting a finger (and, IMHO, he actively told the House Republican leadership that any renewal of the AWB had damned well better not reach his desk). No, we didn't get the Brady Law, the '89 import ban, the '86 machine gun ban, the '68 GCA or the '34 NFA repealed or softened, but things are definitely better than they were 4 years ago, and better than they'd have been if Gore had been able to steal the election.
Next is Kerry - this is the guy who has a 100% rating from the Brady Bunch, who never saw a bill to restrict or eliminate one or another part of our RKBA that he didn't like and vote for. As a reminder, Kerry came off of the campaign trail on Super Tuesday to vote for a renewal of the AWB, closing the "gun show loophole" (i.e. shutting down gun shows), mandatory safety locks and to effectively ban all centerfire rifle ammunition - this from a guy who hadn't bothered to show up for a vote for nearly a whole year before that (and who hasn't shown up since). I'd say that this alone speaks volumes...but wait, there's more! During the 3rd debate, just last week, he repeated all of the lies of the anti-gun fanatics about "assault weapons," and pledged to pressure Congress to renew the AWB (which we all know would be both permanent and further-reaching). Oh, and if Kerry kicks the bucket, Edwards is a clone on this issue.
The final choice is...NO ONE! No one else, no matter how ideologically pure on this or any other issue, has a snowball's chance in Hell of being elected President. The only thing that voting for a 3rd party candidate in the general election does is to hurt the major party candidate whose views are closest to your own (or, if you prefer to look at it this way, the candidate whose policies will be the least disasterous). You'd essentially be casting a vote in favor of the greater of two evils, not a smart decision.
The next President will not only be able to lead on gun-related legislation, appoint the Attorney General and head of the ATFE, but he'll almost certainly appoint at least 2 and possibly as many as 4 Supreme Court Justices and hundreds of lower level federal judges. Again, while Bush's choices may not be optimal from our pro-gun rights standpoint, Kerry's will certainly be the worst possible choices. I'd prefer to at least have a chance at a Constitutional ruling on the 2nd Amendment than a guarantee of the 2nd being ruled non-applicable to individuals.
The next President will also make choices on economic, foreign and defense policies that I think are best left out of the hands of the nation's most liberal Senator.
The time to vote your conscience is in the primaries. The time to vote for the lesser of two evils is in the general.
As General George S. Patton, Jr. stated: "The enemy of the good is the perfect."
John F***** Kerry is as pro-gun as Adolf Hitler.
I wouldn't trust that guy with a water pistol, let alone my gun rights.
I was going to reply to your post but then ancesthntr (post 9) already said it and better than I could have so I guess I will just acknowledge your post
