I have a question and this may sound silly but I guess I do not know the answer. Can't a person register as democrat and vote Republican? What difference does it make what party you affiliate your self with when you vote?

In most states it determines which primary you can vote in.

Can't a person register as democrat and vote Republican? Of course you can. Registering as Dim or republican only affects primaries where you have to vote for which candidate of your party you want to run for election.

One consequence that comes to mind is the type of proganda and sewage that would end up in your mailbox....I wouldn't even wish upon my property tax bill to lie next to a Kerry brochure.
