My saga with Metro and local Democrats continues......

Last night, I left work , and took Metro to the Pentagon City Station. As those of you who live here in the DC area know, the weather last night was cold and rainy.

I exited through the faregates, and, before I left the station, noticed there was a woman, in a red-white-and-blue sequined hat handing out brochures to people in the station, and saying, "Vote for Kerry/Edwards. Tell your friends." I got one of the brochurs from her, klooked at it, and did a 180 to the station manager.

This is where it really gets interesting. I showed the station manager the brochure I had been given and I asked him what Metro's policies were on distributing such literature on Metro's property. He asked me if I was a Bush supporter, and I told him my politics were NOT the issue. I wanted to know what Metro's policies were. He told me that he remembered me as the guy who objected to people with Kerry/Edwards t-shirts who were not bothering anyone. I asked him once again what Metro's policies were. He told me that as long as people handing out things were not bothering anyone, it was perfectly ok. I asked him if it would be OK, then, if I brought brochures frpom my church and handed them out some evening at rush hour.

The station manager told me that as long as the brochure was not offensive, it was OK if people wanted to hand it out on Metro property.

I told him I wanted to speak to a supervisor or someone else. He shot me a disgusted look as he went into his booth and picked up the phone. A few minutes later, he came out to tell me that a M etro supervisor was on his way.

Ten minutes later, a Metro supervisor appeared, and I asked him what Metro's policies were on distributing political literature on Metro's property. I showed him what I had been given. He wanted to know where the person who was handding out the literture was, and I took him and showed him. He very curtly said, "She's fine", and staerted to walk away from me.

I followed him back to the manager's booth, and said I wanted to know what the policies were. He told me that I could call Metro's main number, which he gave me. I asked him if there was anyone there now that I could talk to, and he told me that he didn't know, but that there would be a recording.

I called the number, and sure enough, I got a recording, telling me that Metro's office hours were closed. It did give me the number to the Metro police.

I called Metro Police, and spoke to a person, telling her that there were people handing out political literature inside the Pentagon City Station. She sent someone over.

When I saw the Metro policeman talking to the person handing out the literuature, I asked him what Metro's policies were, and he told me that anyone with free speech rights may exercise those rights 15 feet from Metro property -- Meaning that this lady had to leave the station.

I went back to the station manager and asked him if he now knew what Metro's policies were. He just looked at me and said, "Have a good evening, Sir". I told him, "Thanks. You too. But remember, it's 15 feet outside Metro property."

I left the station and went up to the woman who had been handing out the literature and asked her if she was now clear on Metro's policies. She said, "Aren't you the guy who called the cops?". I said "Yes." She said that she would not talk to me further. I told her that was fine, but to remember -- and to tell all her colleagues -- that the rule is 15 feet OUTSIDE Metro's property.

EXCELLENT WORK, CHS68!!!

please DON'T back down to these rule breaking treasonous rats!

i hope you follow up on this! seriously!

what you should do is make sure the employees already know she's out there, and that they are not making her leave. then, go out there with your own literature and stand near where the rat metro employees allow the rat campaigner to stand, and do your own campaigning.

if they tell you, or both of you, to leave, then file a law suit.

and/or PLEASE write a letter to corporate, (and cc it to all levels). i used to work in transportation. it's not good to receive complaints threatening legal and congressional action.

don't back down. be a major pain in the enemy's but. remember that you are on the side of good, and they are oin the side of evil!

Feh. Let 'em register as Dems, just so long as the experience offends them enough to vote GOP. ;^)

I am actually hoping the people who experience the fraud will be the ones to report it to the site, keeps my own prejudices and sarcastic wit out of it :-)
