It's hard to condemn the reactions of a parent whose son/daughter has been slaughtered on the battle field. And no doubt President Lincoln, President Roosevelt, Tony Blair, and all the rest of the wartime natonal leaders received the same kind of anguished outcry. It's another one of the wonders of our nation that this voice, too, can be heard without retaliation.

But I agree with Rush...this group does NOT speak for me.

You are correct. The problem I have is, although they aren't subject to retribution for their opinions, they also are not subject to rebuttal by the mainstream media. They are given all the time and exposure they want without fear of being confronted by those who happen to disagree with them.

The son or daughter "slaughtered" on the battlefield VOLUNTEERED to fight for the United States. To apologize for their being there denigrates their very honor. To apologize for the United States liberating Iraq from a cruel and vicious dictator is as insane as the U.S. apologizing to the Jews for liberating the concentration camps. These people are I N S A N E. May God stop up their foolish desecration.

This kind of crap obviously sends the wrong message to those who want ALL AMERICANS dead. I feel for Mr. Berg and his family, but people like him seem to have forgotten all about the other Americans that have died on 9/11 and before at the hands of Muslim terrorists.

There's grief, and then there's becoming part of the problem. Their misguided, thoughtless actions soil the legacy of their capitalist son who wen to Iraq of his own accord. The real issue is that the Bergs failed as parents (by the standards they live by), and have enormous guilt. Most people see Nick Berg's death as further proof of why we fight in Iraq. These people simply can't look themselves in the mirror and admit their own son didn't but into their claptrap, and now he's dead... God rest his soul.

The same lefty wackos were crying that 125,000 people were dying every year as a result of the embargo. Now that the embargo is over and everyone has food, kids have vaccines and there are no more torture prisons we should apologize?

I can condemn anybody that interferes with life and liberty. Nick Berg's father is not so innocent. It is my suspicion that he sent his son over there to do psy-ops, as this seems to be a growing cottage industry among the Left. Japan, Italy, etc. Send over peaceniks and play hostage, then come back and say you were released because you "negotiated" with them. I'm still waiting for the final verdict on the last British hostage that was beheaded. Same kinda mixed message going on with him, as well./rant

What these people do encourages the enemy. It is treasonous as far as I'm concerned. It is akin to spitting on the graves of those brave soldiers who have died in combat defending their right to say such things. And it is a slap in the face of those of us who have lost loved ones in war. These people are disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Just because a person has the right to say something doesn't mean they have to. Sorry for the rant, but this stuff hits a raw nerve.

I sent the Fellowship my response to their apologies:

We're sorry American soldiers are dying for your freedom.
We're sorry American soldiers are rebuilding your country to a state it has never experienced before.
We're sorry American soldiers have rebuilt your schools, so your kids can learn something other than pulling a trigger.
We're sorry America is sending billions of dollars to help out a country that has never supported us in the past.
We're sorry America has to do what so many other countries in the world will not.
We're sorry America is hated all over the world, much of which we freed from tyrannies of their own.
We're sorry America doesn't want to drop our pants in the cold international breeze, just to get our a$$ kicked.
We're sorry America has a strong President, who won't let our enemies gather in the bushes to hit us again, when we're not looking.
We're sorry America tolerates Islam, though the reverse doesn't seem to be true.
We're sorry American technology is making your lives better.
We're sorry America has freed countries all over the world, but hasn't kept any of them for our own.
Therefore, if you'd like us to act differently, let us know.

Right now, rush is playing a tape where Kerry is talking to Hatian supporters and then suddenly starts SPEAKING IN FRENCH!!!

It is really eerie.

Nick Berg's father is not honoring the memory of his son by betraying his country and giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Rush is right, it is a viceral reaction. I simply cannot reconcile this in my mind. Berg's family has suffered a great loss, but how many more will suffer losses because of these actions and the actions of the others? Totally inexcusable.

Thanks Casaubon.. My letter of Appreciate is going out to Tony Blair today. To any of you others, who would like to write and thank Mr. Blair the below is the address.

Please note that if the content of your message is private or personal, or you would like to receive a reply, you should write to the Prime Minister instead. The address is 10 Downing Street, London, SW1A 2AA. (The reason for this is that it is relatively easy to create a personal e-mail address without any identity checks. This creates a risk an individual could create an e-mail address in someone else's name and use it to gain access to confidential information.)
