...I wasnt in Vietnam, but Ive been a military observer and participant all my life. Army brat, Marine wife, I worked also as a civilian journalist for a Navy newspaper in Pensacola. My brother was a CH-46 pilot in Desert Storm. Ive been a widow for 11 years now, but, happily, theres a Marine serving out there whos on his way home to us this week, after more than a year away, so stakes are high for me personally when it comes to electing the next commander in chief....

I saw her this on tv from that same rally. She was awesome.

As an Army Brat and Army wife I can certainly identify with this most eloquent speech. Ms. Armstrong speaks for so many of us who have lived with the sound of taps announcing the end of each and every day.
Perhaps we military brats have a special disdain for the likes of Bill Clinton and John Kerry because duty and honor were a part of our childhood. Bill Clinton never deserved to be called Commander-in-Chief of brave and honorable men and women in the service. John Kerry has proven many times over that he must not be honored with that title, either.
