Who would want to be "Atkins-friendly"? Isn't he dead from using his own diet?

Curmudgeonly and vanishing breed are we, primarily resulting from too many Betty Crocker layer cakes.

I knew there was a reason I prefered Häagen-Dazs over Ben & Jerry's. LOL

Maybe I'll buy some to eat election night. ;-)

I love the slam at cBS. Hehe. And folks were worried that was going away? ha!

Our two sons were finely tuned eating machines like Great White Sharks.

My wife stopped at the local grocery story daily and picked up two gallons of milk and a loaf of bread. The clerks nicknamed her the Milk Queen. 20+ years later they still joke about it.

The summer before our oldest son's junior year was an interesting experience. He and one of his best friends worked for a local construction guy. They worked within a few blocks of here all summer and blessed us with them coming home for lunch. We weren't here as we were at work.

Each day, my wife bought a gallon of milk, a pound of lunch meat, cheese, a big bag of Ruffles, a loaf of bread and two bottles of Gatoraide for their afternoon beverage break. Our son's friend was being raised by a widow lady who didn't make enought to really feed him. So we took about a $12 hit or investment each day.

Our son's friend, now a father of three, realizes our investment in both of them, and we get called Mom and Dad by him as well as a few others.

Even now when our sons come to visit after hugs and hellos, they head for our refrigerator and open the door to see what is there and then open the shelf door where the goodies are stored. Our 3 year old grandson has the same genetic pattern. He opens our refrigerator and tells us he is hungry after the hellos, hugs and kisses.

Not likely.... steady as she goes....

Each day is a gift from God.

The torch is being passed to the next generation and they must secure freedom for themselves.

... Just remember to grease the skids with some BC ready to spread frosting.

We have all types of Cheerios. Cheerios are my grandkids and PaPa's favorite cereals. I really like the new Cheerios with the fruit mixed in.

Progresso Manhattan Clam Chowder is my favorite winter/early spring soup.

Our DIL introduced us to the Progresso Soups/Chowders, and they are great.

In the summertime when it gets hot in the Valley and other parts of N California, I keep a can of really cold Progesso Chicken Noodle or Rice in my cooler. When the fishing is done, the cold Progresso goes down into my gullet with some cold cranberry juice and milk. This was prescribed by an ER doc friend who fly fishes. The last thing one needs is some hot jerky or a warm sandwich after some hot hours fly fishing.

I missed that, watching the Sox and Yank game right now.

Black clouds building up again in the West.

Another rainy night coming I think!

We are supposed to have monster winds and some rain tonight.

In a few minutes, I will scan the radar scope to see if I want to head to the local river for an hour or so.

Great minds, GD!

I often find myself using a can of Manhattan as a "starting point." I'll add chopped Louisiana hot links, more clams, fresh oysters, prawns, fresh spinach, cayenne and coarse black pepper. Goes good with hot garlic-buttered jalapeno cornbread. How's my driving? :-)

I did as well. We should always remember to thank and praise as well as write letters of complaints. Go General Mills. I dont' care what their political affiliation is...they kept to the freedom of speech and that's what is important.

I have a couple of great basic seafood soups or stew that I can add various seafoods to. Last night I did one and added seasoned shrimp, red snapper and mussels. It was great, and the left overs will get okra and sausgage added tonight.

However, when we are hungry and don't have an hour to prepare a soup from scratch we do what you do. I will have to add the spinach one of these times.

About this time I start baking beer bread to do with the soups and chowders.

I received my DVD of Stolen Honor today. I watched it and cried. Is this the same thing Sinclair is gonna show??? I hope so. I wish my deceased Vietnam Vet was here to see this. Traitor John Kerry MUST NOT become our President.
