GOP: Kerry trying to scare seniors

WASHINGTON - Eager for an edge in the dead-even presidential race with just two weeks left, Sen. John F. Kerry [related, bio] yesterday charged President Bush [related, bio] is plotting a ``January surprise'' to privatize Social Security and slash retiree benefits.

``The president told his biggest and wealthiest donors about his `big January surprise,' '' the Democratic nominee told a church crowd in Ohio. ``He's to come out strong, in his words, to fight for his plans to privatize Social Security.''

The Bush camp vehemently denied any such plans - and accused the Bay State senator of resorting to fear-mongering among vulnerable elderly voters to win last-minute votes.

``John Kerry's misleading senior scare tactics are just another example of a candidate who will say anything to get elected,'' responded Bush spokesman Steve Schmidt.

The president has advocated letting younger workers create private retirement accounts with part of their payroll taxes, aides noted, but he has not called for full privatization. Bush, however, has yet to reveal full details of his Social Security reform plans.

Targeting the vast pool of elderly and retired voters who depend on Social Security in the key battleground state of Florida, where he also campaigned yesterday, Kerry pounced on a Sunday New York Times Magazine story quoting Bush as telling supporters ``privatizing Social Security'' was one of his second-term priorities.

I guess the Left will trot this lie out in every election.

It never is true and it never happens.

Too bad the Democratic Party has nothing to offer, relying on scare tactics to take votes.

Targeting the vast pool of elderly and retired voters

Kerry's scare tactics will turn into threats: "No more oxygen until you fill out this absentee ballot."

The Left's motto: Keep the electorate, dumb, depressed, dependent and Democrat.

Well, now the lack of flu vaccine is Bush's fault according to the great Kerrini.

They estimate 36k deaths this year because of the flu. That is with the shortage. Last year was 68k without a shortage. In previous years the average has been between 25 and 40 thousand deaths related to the Flu.

So why is this year any different? Because Kerry chose to politicize it and scare people.

This POS should be taken out to the woodshed and have the snot beaten out of him.

Next Kerry will blame auto deaths on Bush.

Where is that recent long and useful article about Social Security being the third rail of politics because it must be addressed and fixed because it is obvious and certain that it will fail if nothing is done?

So doing nothing now is exactly the "political" (and wrong) thing to do? The article was posted in the last 24 hours.

This is from the condensed RAT Playbook (paragraph 2)

Dubya, a simpleton cowboy controlled by Dick Cheney, who stole the last election from President Al Gore, wants to draft your little boys AND girls into the Army, so that they can all die meaningless deaths in foreign lands, to enrich the criminal shareholders of Haliburton.

The mean-spirited Republican's in Congress are secretly plotting with the big Pharmaceutical companies to gouge your elderly retired parents' nest egg, and loot the Social Sercurity lock box, in order to eliminate all taxes on their ultra rich fat cat contributors. All the while, slashing spending on education so that your children will grow up to be stupid unproductive Republicans.

They are conspiring together, to poison our air and water with greenhouse gases and hog sewege, so that they can continue to oppress minorities and women, by suppressing the legitimate voting rights of convicted felons and the dead.
