COMEDY CENTRAL's 'DAILY SHOW' has experienced surprise audience erroision -- despite a publicity push by host Jon Stewart.
Stewart, who announced last week that he plans to support John Kerry, pulled 1,040,000 total viewers for month of September -- down 7% from August, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A jumbo push by media writers and a bestselling book apparently has failed to translate into any audience improvement.
Associating oneself with John Kerry is the kiss of death.
In two years the answer to the question, "Whose life did John Kerry allegedly save?" will be "Licorice?" and the come back will be, "Oh, yeah, I forgot about the hamster."
I wonder if his audience drop has anything to do with Kerry's appearance. It was awful, then Jon comes out NOW and says he's going to vote for that doofus. I do believe there used to be even some Republican viewers - probably not anymore. Unless, they saw Crossfire on Friday and heard him tell Begala and Carlson off.
Kilborne on the Daily Show: hilarious, fresh, brilliant.
Stewart told Begala and Carlson off?
No, I think his name was John Liebowitz or something.
Stewart's steadily gotten less and less careful about appearing to skewer the left as often and as savagely as he does the right. We always knew he was liberal; he just used to be better (a la Jay Leno) about playing to his conservative viewers. Now that he isn't, guess what? There aren't as many OF those kind of viewers.
I never thought John Stewart was funny, even when I didn't care about politics.
The Democrats worship at his feet though. I guess they like echo chamber.

good one!
Stewart to Carlson . . .
The conversation reached its most heated moment when Carlson said to Stewart, "I do think you're more fun on your show," to which Stewart replied, "You're as big a dick on your show as you are on any show."
I never watched the show, and I do not intend too!
It isn't a news show.
It's a comedy show.
Only it isn't funny any more since Stewart thinks he should be taken seriously. How wierd.
Watch the ratings for September and October drop even further.
