Will there be an official statement from the Church at some point?

No! This is an example of 'latae sentiae' excommunication. The church cannot tell you how to vote. According to Canon Law, Kerry has excommunicated himself. It is up to you, the voter, to understand this situation and vote accordingly.

But isn't any priest who knows of this 'latae sentiae' excommunication AUTOMATICALLY prohibited from giving him Communion in the absence of public repudiation of his current antilife positions (including Embryonic SCR)?

If he does administer Communion anyway, isn't the priest at risk of being defrocked?

And if the Bishops won't initiate the action, can a lay person do an end-around to defrock the priest?

Paging Herman the Cherusker for possible assistance.

Actually, I kind of bet there WILL be an official statement by the Church - there has to be. Kerry is being tried for heresy. The outcome of that inquisitional tribunal will be made public because the guy who started it will go on EWTN, at the very least.

Check out www.defide.com for more information on him and on the suit.
