Sorry, my faith does not allow me to repeat slanderous statements. Ps. 41

I saw this claim (of 8, not 18) a few months ago, in a single column (can't think of the columnist right now. Maybe I can find it later. It has been repeated several times by other writers, but never with any details as to what precinct, what voting list, etc. I remain a bit skeptical. It could be that 8 of them had drivers licenses, and thus, possibly, could have registered under Motor Voter. But I'd feel better if some writer could state the prcinct(s) involved, tell us they had looked at the voter list, etc.

Nope, I just rechecked my tape. He said 18 not 8. He could have misspoke, that's possible.

OK. Here's some data. In 1991, Diane ravitch, a reputable writer at Hoover institute, noted the weaknesses of our national ID and voting systems. She said, in a column:

"When they bought their one-way tickets to California, the hijackers identified themselves with a driver's license, as most people do. News reports indicated that most obtained their drivers' licenses in New Jersey, Michigan, Virginia, and Florida. Thus far, no reporter has observed that the hijackers were eligible to vote in state and federal elections, despite the fact that they were not American citizens."

Note that she does not say that they ACTUALLY registered, only that they were "eligible" (her word) to vote (presumably if they had registered under Motor Voter and had not been caught).

In addition, I found a reference from a 2002 article on Congressional legislation introduced to tighten up on Drivers licenses, which states that "8 of 19" of the hijackers had "phony drivers licenses."

The figure "8 of 19" then morphs in later articles into "registered to vote." I am now pretty confident that we have a migration from "maybe could have" from the Ravitch article; to "actually did" in later columns. At least until someone can find a source for the precinct and precinct list.

How Democrats Steal Elections - Top 10 Methods of Liberal Vote Fraud

1. Over-Voting. In Democrat strongholds like St. Louis, Philadelphia and Detroit, some precincts had 100% of their registered voters voting, with 99% of the ballots going to Gore. Clearly, multiple voting resulted in extra tallies for Gore in the 2000 election. (New York Post, 12/09/00).

2. Dead Voters. This classic Democratic method of vote fraud goes all the way back to 1960 in Chicago and Dallas. The 2000 election was no exception. In Miami-Dade County, for example, some of the 144 ineligible votes (those which officials actually admitted to) were cast by dead people, including a Haitian-American who's been deceased since 1977 (Miami-Herald, 12/24/00).

3. Mystery Voters. These "voters" cast votes anyway but are not even registered to vote. In heavily Democratic Broward County, for example, more than 400 ballots were cast by non-registered voters. (Miami-Herald 1/09/01)

4. Military ballots. Many of these votes were disqualified for the most mundane and trivial reasons. At least 1,527 valid military ballots were discarded in Florida by Democratic vote counters (Drudge Report, 11/19/00).

5. Criminals. Felons are a natural Democratic voter and they're protected on voter rolls across the country. In Florida at least 445 ex-convicts - including rapists and murderers -- voted illegally on November 7th. Nearly all of them were registered Democrats. (Miami-Herald 12/01/00)

6. Illegal aliens. These voters have long been a core liberal constituency, especially in California. In Orange County in 1996, Rep. Bob Dornan had his congressional seat stolen from him when thousands of illegal aliens voted for Loretta Sanchez (Christian Science Monitor, 9/2/97).

7. Vote-buying. Purchasing votes has long been a traditional scheme by Democrats, and not just with money. In the 2000 election in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Democratic workers initiate a "smokes-for-votes" campaign in which they paid dozens of homeless men with cigarettes if they cast ballots for Al Gore (Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, 11/14/00).

8. Phantom Voters. These voters don't really exist, but their ballots do. In the 1996 Lousiana Senate race, GOP candidate Woody Jenkins had the election stolen from him when he discovered that 7,454 actual votes were cast but had no paper trail to authenticate them (Behind the Headlines, F.R. Duplantier, 4/27/97).

9. Dimpled chads. Those infamous punch-cards were a ballot bonanza for Al Gore. Democratic poll workers in Palm Beach, Dade and Broward counties tampered and manipulated thousands of ineligible ballots and counted them for Gore, even though no clear vote could be discerned. (NewsMax.com 11/27, 12/22, 11/18, 11/19/00).

10. Absentee ballots. Normally it's assumed that Republicans benefit from absentee ballots. But in the case of Miami's 1997 mayoral election, hundreds of absentee ballots were made for sale or sent out to non-Miami residents. Fraud was so extensive in the race that the final results were overturned in court (FL Dept. of Law Enforcement Report, 1/5/98)."

WE MUST FIGHT VOTE FRAUD!

Here we go again -- I'm not going to disoute many of the items listed, but the "100% of registered voting" in Philly is completely phony. I have looked at the returns for every precinct, and it just didn't happen. In St. Louis, I have looked at the returns by Ward, and the turnout figures were down in the 60s or so, which makes 100% in any precinct very unlikely. I haven't loked at Detroit, but I have never seen a single claim of this sort that says: "In precinct 12, ward 7 there were 567 votes cast by 567 registered voters." I imagine it is because it just isn't true -- but I await data to the contrary.

Gore getting 99% of the votes cast -- Yes, that happened in quite a number of black precincts. 100% Turnout -- No.

>>>> It was on Cal Thomas After Hours TV show with John Fund of the WSJ.... Yup, a TV commercial along this line would be devastating if they were democrats.

That would be an AMAZING commercial. Show their pictures alongside their voter registration cards, with the big DEMOCRAT highlighted. I think if they knew they were registered as Dems now, however, that Cal would have been sure to hammer that point home. More research needed.

With "motor voter",if you get a drivers license, the registration is just a matter of checking a box.

The problem stems from giving drivers licenses to illegals and visitors.

Some states do do have a good way of assessing the difference, and the illegals know where to go to get good government paperwork that will grant them access to everything they require.

Another terrorist issue that shows they have subjective evil in their hearts--several of the Beslan school terrorists were druggies.

How many of the 19 do you think will vote for Kerry/Edwards?

38, of course!

Some states don't require that you declare a party at the time of registration. In Texas you only declare when you vote in a primary. What happens in Fla. & Va.?

The link is NOT about the hijackers. It is about a group of Yemeni descendents near Buffalo (The Lackawana 6, or 8, or some such). I think they were mostly convicted, but it's not what Fund and others were talking about.

Nice try, but no cigar.

The article also sems to mention that they were all US citizens, so they may be registered dem-terrorists, but they're not illegal voters!!
