I lived in AZ for three years, and can attest to a definite liberal slant by the Republic. I would have given you odds they would endorse Senator Kerry.
Senator Kerry should be worried if a paper like this is endorsing President Bush.
Bush's strong showing at the debate in Tempe must've sent the Libs at the Republic over the edge. LOL
I've lived in the "Valley of the Sun" for nearly 20 years and cancelled my subscription to the Republic years ago.
To see them sway towards GWB means whatever evidence, statements, etc. made them do so was simply overwhelming.

Live here since 95' myself, and Kerry pretty much forfeited AZ by pulling his ads the same week Teresa informed us that they didn't care about Arizona because, as she put it, 'one state is not a whole state'.
Circulation must have been down.
I've been here 27 years and finally cancelled the paper. :)
