In my community I've noticed at heightened times of alert, if there is a bus convoy (maybe three to five busses), you will see a sheriff's escort

How effective do you really think this is?

I've wondered this. Not even sure it's for security purposes, but I tend to watch for these things. (married to special forces guy and it rubbed off on me).
