FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) George Perez still feels the sweat between his toes when he exercises. He's still plagued with nagging cramps in his calf muscle. And sometimes, when he gets out of bed at night without thinking, he topples over.

Thought I'd share this awesome and inspiring story.

I am actually suprised that AP put this story out....It seems lately they usually squelch such patriotism.
What a brave soldier,,I couldn't possibly thank him enough.

I am actually suprised that AP put this story out.... So was I. More of these stories need to get out there. These soldiers deserve better than Kerry.

Contrast this brave patriot with the soldier who let himself be turned into a pathetic tool in that OpTruth 527 ad.

To: freeperfromnj
Too bad he's not as brave and heroic as Senator Kerry. /sarcasm

With his new carbon-fiber prosthetic leg, Perez intends to show a medical board he can run an eight-minute mile, jump out of airplanes and pass all the other paratrooper tests that will allow him to go with his regiment to Afghanistan sometime next year.Bump for George Perez, an example for us all.

And to think I was b-tchin' and whinin' about putting up with crutches/cast for
3 months due to one little broken bone in my foot.
MEN like Perez remind me of what a never-served civilian girly-man I am.

A photograph of Perez's lonely boot transmitted around the world and spread across two pages of Time magazine became a stark reminder that the war in Iraq was far from over.I hate Time Magazine. To them, a photo of an empty boot is more important than a photo of the hero to whom it belongs, a hero who is alive, unvanquished, even thriving.
To hell with Time Magazine. Another bump for George.

Thanks for posting this amazing story of another of our dedicated patriotic warriors. Hate to think of where we'd be without them.

THAT is an American Fighting Man, boys and girls.Indeed, and unlike Kerry who received 3 Purple hearts for 3 superfliscious bandaid type scratches and got out of Vietnam after just 4 month there this soldier can't wait to get back to be with his fellow soldiers in Iraq

FREEPERFROMNJ:
THANK YOU for posting this.
Born in 1941, I grew knowing heroes who came back from the Pacific and Europe with things like this. Their attitude was simply: This is the way things are now.
They did not whine or ask for any leeway.
Looks like The Greatest Generation, Version II, is here!
