I think the poster meant "losing ground" on the draft issue.
It might be effective for Bush himself to respond. Repeat his statement that he has no intention of resurrecting the draft...it would be counter-productive because the all-volunteer military is so effective. DEMOCRATS introduced a bill THIS YEAR to reinstitute the draft...REPUBLICANS defeated it overwhelmingly. Senator Kerry is stooping to using the military as a political tool to scare voters and he's doing it in the most cynical way imaginable. He should retract his statement...unless he's saying HE is the one who will resurrect the draft.
