We are living through some dangerous times. Islamo-fascists are threatening freedom in countries all over the world. Appeasement and a lack of resolve toward Islamic terrorism have begun to plague some of the countries in the West. Suicide bombings, beheadings and terrorist atrocities in Fallujah are starting to become the norm for these vile fanatics.
President George W. Bush has indicated a willingness to pursue the War on Terror further than Afghanistan and Iraq perhaps even into Iran in order to stop them from developing nuclear weapons. It is unclear how Kerry would handle the War on Terror; however, we do know that it involves multilateralism and fighting a more sensitive campaign.
Bush understands that the key to defeating Americas enemies is to drain the swamp of Islamic fundamentalism. America is bleeding this dismal swamp dry using both the military and the capitalist system.
In the case of Iraq, the United States has militarily defeated Saddam and now is in the process of incorporating the capitalist system into the everyday lives of the Iraqi people.
In fact, since the overthrow of Saddams despotic regime and the subsequent coalition takeover, the Iraqi standard of living has increased significantly.
According to Trade Arabia (www.tradearabia.com), Iraqi Airways has resumed international service and oil pipelines are beginning to export oil to Turkey.
Within months, Iraqis will vote for their nations leaders.
Interestingly enough, the very first person elected as speaker of the Iraqi Assembly was a Kurdish man named Faud Massum.
The education system and the Iraqi Stock Exchange are currently being modernized, and the Iraqi real estate business is booming.
Examples abound of modernization and improvements in quality of life for the Iraqi people far too many to be listed here. For more information, check out the Iraqi Business Directory online (www.iraqdirectory.com/en/).
Foreign companies, partnered with a people determined to increase their standard of living, have made these improvements possible.
As the Iraqi population begins to see that their rights are best protected with a democratic form of government and that their standard of living will be highest in a free-market system, they will become far less likely to support the Islamo-fascists currently attempting to dismantle their society.
In addition, Bush understands that Iraqs transition into a free trade zone will shake the foundations of neighboring Islamic states and could even lead to the collapse of the despotic reign of Yasser Arafat.
The Iranian government, hostile to foreign enterprise especially from the United States will have a difficult time explaining to its people why their Iraqi neighbors are enjoying a better quality of life.
Arafat, maintaining his power partially by suppressing large investments made by wealthy Palestinian investors, could also face difficulties from Palestinians who would like to become wealthier and happier through free trade.
The Islamo-fascists recognize that economic progress and the subsequent freedom it entails in Iraq, will lead to Iraqis eventual rejection of their type of thinking. Its a recognition that has inspired the Islamists to explode bombs in Iraq and to scare the population away from the freedom that the United States has sacrificed to deliver to them.
Underlining the War on Terror is a battle of two ideas unable to coexist. The freedom and liberty that have empowered the West for so long are squaring off against the totalitarianism, oppression and tyranny of Islamic fundamentalism.
Since the Iranian Hostage Crisis and the Ayatollah Khomeinis statement that he wanted Islam to conquer the world, these two ideas have been fighting a terrible and global war.
A genuine peace can only exist when one idea has defeated the other. Just as no peace between the Arab world and Israel will exist until the Arabs fully accept the existence of Israel, no peace will exist between America and the Islamo-fascists until the fascists no longer believe they can or should shape the world to fit their mad schemes.
Since 9/11, America has been slowly winning the war, but it is clear that more work remains to be done.
With President Bush in the White House the terrorists will lose. With Kerry they have a chance to win.
I wonder who bin Laden would vote for?

This bright college senior understands!
In this day and age of throatslitters and headhunters...I'll take George Bush over the windsurfer any day......
