The folks back home'd like Edwards to make an impact in the senate.
I think they would be satisfied if he'd just show his face in the senate. He isn't referred to as the "absent senator" in his home state for nothing. He has spent more time on his campaign for presidency and vice-presidency than he has in the senate.
