Boy oh boy, thought the draft issue was DOA since it was proven that the demoncRATS actually developed a bill in Congress to reinstitute the draft. Does that mean if Botox Ketchupman gets elected, the demoncRATS will dust the bill off and get it passed and Ketchupman will sign?

He's a lot like bent willie and crusty klintoons, he can no longer tell the difference between a lie and the truth.

On top of all this, the only person running around talking about a draft and re-instituting it is/was Charles Rangel, and some how, A REPUBLICAN is accused of wanting to reinstitute a draft and it makes news.

Draft ploy backfires

"A current inflammatory piece of gossip is the insinuation by Democrats that President Bush will restore the military draft if he is re-elected. The gossip was gaining steadier legs every day, mostly through the Internet, prompting concerned Republicans to bury it deep once and for all. A bill languishing from last year was called up in the House and dispatched on a 402-2 vote.

"We're going to put a nail in that coffin," said House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. Speaking to Iowa voters the other day, President Bush vowed, "We will not have a draft so long as I'm the president of the United States."

Rep. Duncan Hunter of California, chairman of the Armed Services Committee, called draft talk "the hoax of the year."

A news report depicted Demo-crats as being "outraged" at DeLay's tactic, accusing him of a "cynical political ploy," Said Democratic Rep. Charles R. Rangel of New York, "It is a prostitution of the legislative process to take a serious issue and use it for political purposes on the eve of the election just to say they are against the draft." This is Rangel at his most disingenuous self.

Rep. Rangel was the author of the bill reinstituting the draft. But he voted against it. A flip-flop? Or was he trying to pull some political shenanigans himself? Certainly while Mr. Rangel's bill was pending in the House hopper, the specter of a draft persisted, especially when Rangel's fellow Democrats, Max Cleland and Howard Dean, traversed the nation flatly accusing President Bush of having a "secret plan" to restore the draft.

Who is being dishonest here, Rep. Rangel? Who is prostituting not just the legislative process but a presidential election as well?"

Rangel is a DNC pimp.

What is wrong with people?

How does he expect to increase the Armed Forces by 40,000, as he has claimed to want, if not through a draft? Especially given the fact that 75% of the troops don't like him, and those who DO like him are peaceniks that wouldn't enroll anyway?

Enlist jcb not enroll. Maybe we can decrease burden on the secondary education system by decreasing enrollment with a draft! Resulting in fewer of my tax dollars being needed to fund "quota programs" No that don't work! Damned if you do damned if you don't!

What angers me is that Kerry brings this up, knowing it's a lie, but figuring that the people whom he appeals to are so frickin' stupid that they're not going to know any better.

He's succeeding, too. Young people are convinced that Bush is going to bring back the draft. Look at a poll and you'll see it.

We have a friend with children who are draft age who is deathly afraid of this as well. While a dear person, she's one of the most dull-witted people we know. There seems to be a correlation here....
