I personally think Israel and the Palestinian conflict is what keeps the Middle East somewhat stable. Most of the Middle East countries were British protectorates until the mid-1900s. After that, unstable governments formed. Now, failed governments throughout the region use Israel and the US and reasons why their people suffer. Only the "worldly" or educated Muslims know the truth and most of them immigrate to Europe or the US.
