A question of character - Kerry's first Purple Heart in doubt
Washington Times ^ | 10/15/04 | Martin L. Fackler

Posted on 10/14/2004 11:50:13 PM PDT by kattracks

[snip]

My experiences as a combat surgeon in Vietnam (Dec. 10, 1967 to Dec. 11, 1968) and also as a forensic consultant for the past two decades, however, lead me to the conclusion that Mr. Kerry's first Purple Heart award is his most serious problem. The recent revelation of the use of falsified documents (by CBS and Dan Rather) might not be the first time such a technique has been used. During Mr. Kerry's four-month tour in Vietnam, which he presents as his principal qualification to be president of the United States, his application for his first Purple Heart award was disapproved by both his commanding officer and the doctor who evaluated his wound. Yet he somehow managed to get that award. How?

[snip]

If Mr. Kerry fails to clear up before the election the question about how he got his first Purple Heart, voters intending to vote for him must consider the possibility that they could be voting for a man who might, sooner or later, be shown to have falsified his naval records to obtain a medal he didn't deserve — which is a federal crime. The fact that he used that medal to get out of Vietnam after only four months — while the rest of us served our full year — would greatly magnify the disgrace of such a crime. I think that every American citizen would find a replay of the impeachment of a sitting president to be extremely distasteful.

Exactly. And that disgusting display of arrogant stupidity by Ted Koppel last night should be put under the magnifying glass as well. The Nightline story is a farce.

Isn't it true after the new legislation Bush sponsored that he can vote on a "provisional ballot" even if he hasn't registered? I confess I didn't follow that legislation closely, but perhaps he could at least take advantage of voting provisionally under that 'provision'.

I agree that by not releasing his records, Kerry is certainly hiding something. He should sign that form 180.

[ and ALL THREE of these possibilities are SHAMEFUL!]

You overlook another possible very possible senario...

The "NAVY" engineered him being shipped back after 3 months (Psuedo-honorably) because he was deemed "UNFIT TO COMMAND" to save the Navy of the embarrassment of putting sailors lives in his hand and other reasons. Especially for that reason. A court martial at that time would not have been good. Not to speak of the fact he was Senator Kennedy's "BITCH"... A court marshall would have embarrased Massachucetts and all the Kennedys.. Who would have figured the idiot would run for President and the whole thing blow up in their faces(the Navy).. The "LIE" used to ship Kerry out of Veitnam is what Kerry has "USED" ever since AGAISNT THE NAVY... maybe.. Because he has sure skated on this all these years.. Could have happened to more than one person "UNFIT TO COMMAND" in that war too..

This seems a more reasonable explanation to me.. John KNEW that he was dishonored in that way and turned agaisnt his military commanders to hurt them back.. Voila! his after active duty snit to hurt America back... falling in with other abject traitors like Jane Fonda (and her dad Henry). And after being tarred with association with these kinds of people they now OWNED HIM... The socialist mafia being what it was and still is.. Same thing with Ed Kennedy the socialist mafia probably saved him from Chapaquidick and have owned him too ever since..

NOW there would be an interesting book if it could be researched and proven.. and more like what could of happened.. to turn an average american idiot into a traitorous american idiot..

I also don't know much about a provisional ballot. I'll see what my daughter says later on today. My friend believes the deadline is October 26th.

Thanks for the ping. What I want to know more about is this "shrapnel in the leg" stuff - how does that happen with three scratches that never required medical attention?

Yes. We know he got the rice in his butt when he set off the rice storage area and tried to run away before it exploded, but what about the other wound to his rear thigh? Was he running away again?

"Darlin, Vietnam will never be dead until all of us who were alive then are."

Mr. Frazier is absolutely correct. John Kerry not only betrayed fellow Vietnam veterans but also his country. He is not qualified to serve in any political capacity whatsoever, let alone as POTUS. Anyone who votes for this despicable man is either totally out of touch or don't give a damn about this great country.
