Please copy and paste this to all your friends and family asking that they send this to all their friends, hoping it will find it's way into the military members/family emails (I know it could be better but it is a start)
They need to know we care and this is good news for sure.

I agree, but, hey it is a start. We need to start on our congress critters after the election. They MUST do better. If we band together we can make a difference for our troops.

This is fabulous. I emailed this info to my soldier over in Iraq. This will definitely make his day.
Thanks for posting it.

I agree. Our troops deserve to be pampered to the hilt, pampered financially in a big way.

Did Kerry take time out of his busy schedule to vote for it?

I too would like to see more. But it's a start.

We went 8 years under Clinton with extremely small pay raises. Clinton didn't want to give us anything. Republicans were the ones who got us the little we did get. The first raise Pres. Bush gave us, we were ecstatic. It was huge in our eyes! He is the one that cares about the military not Kerry. Kerry will treat the military with the same contempt Clinton did. Pres. Bush will continue to support us or should I say them since we are retired. (I served 8 years, hubby retired last year.)God bless our Troops!!

Neither Kerry nor Edwards voted.
Wow...why does this not surprise me? ;-)
To: Former Military Chick
3.5 % raise, it just keeps up with inflation from the 8 years during Clinton we got nothing.
I'll be happy when its a real RAISE 10% across the board. Than that will be a pay increase for the military.

A very good start, but the troops definitely deserve more. If I were Prez, I would have asked for a percentage pay raise scale in reverse order of rank: an E-2 gets a 10% increase graduating up to an E-10 who gets a 1% increase. Same for officers: an O-1 gets a 10% increase and an O-10 gets 1%.
