Kerry surges and Wall Street shrugs (CNNFN Tries To Help Liberal Democrat Agenda)

A strong showing in the three presidential debates has helped John Kerry climb in the polls, but has it given him a bounce on Wall Street too?

While Wall Street would likely still prefer a Bush win, Kerry's improved standing has forced investors to contemplate having the Democratic candidate in the Oval Office. "The markets until recently have been oblivious to the possibility of a Kerry win," says Greg Valliere, chief strategist at Schwab Washington Research Group.

That's not the case anymore—and the Street has apparently grown a bit more comfortable with Kerry.

I swear, could the agenda of the liberal press--even the financial press--at CNN be any more clear??

Do these clowns really think people who can peruse the 'net and get news from a variety of sources believe this crap???

I just think they ought to put it on an "opinion" page, not as the LEAD FINANCIAL NEWS STORY of the night. Right now, this shill piece for Lurch is THE LEAD STORY on CNNFN.

Whatta bunch of clymers.

No offense, but I don't buy that Kerry is surging. I just don't get that sense. Basically, CNN is conducting its own polls to show Kerry is winning, accepting them as the truth and then reporting them as news. In other words, nothing new. Unfortuneatley for CNN, they are not connecting. The days of the MSM creating the news are over. Reality is winning out and that reality is that Bush is winning this election.

P.S. Just cast my absentee ballot. Chalk up one vote for W!!!

"A strong showing"? Huh? The first debate was his best and that's only because the President's style wasn't focused that night. In my opinion, Bush won the second and third debates, as did Cheney. At worst, no.2 was a tie, and no.3 was a tie favor Bush.

Bush engaged the audience, made them laugh with him (2&3). Kerry as usual was a total cold fish until the very end of the last debate (there was a glimmer of warmth there). Kerry was constantly defending his record in the last one:

"Well actually I had 54 bills..."
"I broke with my party..."
"When I said global test, derr, I meant..."

And when he wasn't doing that he was coldly reading stats like some policy wonk, not looking presidential at all, and certainly not connecting with the audiece with stats and figures in key battleground states. He hesitated when he started his closing statement and frankly it was too prepared. The defending of the 'global test' really killed it, too. Bush's closing statement on the other hand was truly poetic and gave one a feeling of warmth. Bush's humor throughout helped mush too. Did anyone notice that he was teeming with enthusiasm when he talked about "freedom on the march" in Afghanistan?

Juicy phrases:

"A plan is not a litany of complaints."
"More of the same..." (ha - Kerry's own words against him!)
"You can run but you can't hide."

So to say that anyone other than Bush won the alst debate is total bunk, and if polls say that Kerry "won" then something is obviously wrong with sample; perhaps tampered? I especially liked how CNN jumped right on it and said Kerry won. Oh and the Mary Cheney comment.

I could go on and on why Bush won and Kerry lost...

Total bunk, that's all.

Exactly, I don't accept CNN's underlying premise (that Kerry is winning or has "surged") and thus don't have to pay attention to the rest of their stories or newscast.

Excuse me while I visit the vomitorium. As the Lame Stream Media gets more desperate, they get more brazen. In the end, they will all pull a Chris Matthews and just advocate openly for Kerry.

Agreed. I thought it was hardly respectful, by the way, for John Kerry to compare the President of the United States to a killer on TV. That line went flat, just like the Mary Cheney comment.

Will some great historian re-write this history so that 20 yrs from now sane people actually admit that Bush won the last debate and at least tied no.2??? When is the madness going to end?

The MSM is under the impression that they CREATE reality. Thus, if they report Bush is losing or Kerry is surging, or etc. etc. it is reality. This arrogance is absolutely insulting and maddening. Who knows, Kerry may win, but at this point, I doubt it. It seems to me, from perusing this site for poll results, that Bush is going to win the states he won last time and maybe more. How then is he losing??

They are desperate. See, if they wanted the best story then they would've chosen Bush as the winner in the last debate. It makes it much more interesting to have a "comeback kid" than for one person (in their tiny minds) "dominate" the three pres debates.

But that proves that they don't want a story most of all; they just want the amoral left to win and the decent right to lose, so they don't have to feel guilty about their adultery when a "president" is getting on some intern.

Frankly it goes to show you how small their minds are. Liberals always beam with pride at their so-called "intelligence". Well if they had a brain bigger than their fist they would clearly understand that Bush's vision to transform the Middle East is revolutionary and brilliant; not staid or misleading as they like to characterize conservatives. They would also see that as Bush said, "the No Child Left Behind act is really a jobs bill in disguise," it is true. And Kerry would have half-a-brain not to say, "well the President talked about education, and I'll answer the question."

The supreme irony (besides them being wrong which is actually not an irony but a fact) is that they are the ones who are prejudiced, close-minded, staid, and lacking in intelligence (or they sure only use it to memorize their talking points, which a parrot could do).

What small minds float out there!

They "think" they create reality. Call me sentimental but I honestly believe that decent Ma and Pa and apple pie Americans are still out there who see through their smokescreens. I laugh everytime I hear about Chomsky's "conservative media bias".

That's like saying the far side of the Moon is facing Earth.

A strong showing in the three presidential debates has helped John Kerry climb in the polls, but has it given him a bounce on Wall Street too?

This is almost too funny?

Kerry's performance in all three debates can be summed up as:

I have a plan.

I have a better plan.

I have a plan.

Bush mislead...

I have a plan.

Halliburton...

I have a plan???

I didn't vote for the 87b before I did vote for it. But I did vote for the 87b before I voted against it?

I have a plan.

Na na na na nah na, I married up and you didn't...

What my wife has taught me? Well, my mother was nice to me!

George Bush and Halliburton are the reason that we are where we are today!

Under my plan, there will be a 'chicken in every pot'....

IMHO, empty suit! No substance! Cannot be trusted! Sees both sides to everything, AND votes that way! Questionable service in the military! Horrible record in the Senate!

While Mr Kerry may have razzled and dazzled some in the MSM with his nice (orange) tan, his spiffy Florsheims and fancy threads, his manicure, and his Yale oratory, he has told me nothing about who he is or what he will do to lead this country! Since he seems to be all about himself, I hardly think that he will get my vote........

His performace in the debates was what Mr Kerry seems to have done all of his life, promote John Kerry.....
