And on a slightly less related note, but still pertinent to Kerry's distortions, I was surprised that W didn't slam back at Kerry about health coverage.

There's a huge difference between not having HEALTH INSURANCE and not having HEALTH COVERAGE. In the US, NOBODY can be denied medical treatment if they go to a hospital. It's federal law. EVERYONE must be treated, regardless of the ability to pay. Of course a hospital is going to try to collect, but if they can't, the loss gets tacked on to the charges of future patients.

So, It's really deceptive to quote the numbers of those who have health insurance. Many of those are students who elect not to have coverage. W should have made that a point. The insurance only defrays the cost to the consumer, it is not what provides the health coverage.

Several times in the debates, W prefaced his responses with "It's hard to know where to begin". There's only so much rebuttal that can happen in 90 seconds. Part of the stRATegy was and is to overwhelm W and the electorate with a deluge of lies too numerous to refute...
