Oh, I forgot to add. Another trick that Kerry is using is this. Bush extended unemployment benefits. Everyone who applied for that extension was counted again as unemployed. So each person was ONE unemployed, for the first filing and a SECOND unemployed after filing for the extension.
This doesn't flub the "number of jobs lost" numbers, but it certainly skews the "jobless claims" and "unemployed" numbers.""
I thought sKerry accused Bush last night of NOT extending the unemployment benefits.
Which is it? You may be correct, I may have heard it wrong. sKerry makes me so mad when he starts his moaning, I start to not concentrate.

No, you didn't hear it wrong. C'mon man, think about who said it. As I told my 13 year old daughter, "how do we know when sKerry is lying? When his lips are moving."
Maybe you just forgot the /sarcasm tag. :-)

I didn't hear Kerry say that. President Bush definitely extended unemployment benefits. A month later they came out with the new "jobless claims" numbers, which, of course, had increased because of those filing for the extension.
Incidentally, this type of change at the Federal level accounts for all sorts of skewed statistics. They reported not too long ago that the number of Americans that were overweight increased sharply in the matter of one year. Well, what they didn't tell you was that the Federalis changed the definition of 'overweight' by lowering 10 pounds for men and like 5 pounds for women (not sure about the change to the women's definition). So, suddenly, all those men that may have not been overweight were suddenly overweight because of a definition change.

Didn't Kerry miss the Senate vote?
