I've decided that the main reason Kamp Kerry made this coordinated attack on Mary Cheney wasn't to try to cause division within the conservative voters, although any of that would be gravy.
I believe the ultimate goal was to open a crack in the door of presidential debate civility level. Candidates children, up until last night, have been off-limits for political exploitation. The Edwards/Cahill/Kerry coordinated effort has set a precendence. It knocked a support out from under an unspoken agreement on the politicl playing field. After this, Republican children will be "fair game".
Of course the expectation will most certainly be that any Republican candidate hold firm to the old standard of respect for Dim families. But not for RAT candidates.
The Party of the Criminally Insane and Morally Depraved has struck again.

Some wouldn't vote for Cheney on this basis and they may be the same who didn't vote for Bush after the DWI flap. some conservatives are so homoophobic that this would affect them and we are fooling ourselves if we don't know this.
That said, it is not homophobic to want marriage to be as it has always been and Mort is out to lunch on that.
Mothers of daughters all know there are things we wouldn't want to hear said about our daughters on national tv. Frankly I wouldn't want my daughters even mentioned unless it was for a Nobel Pr,,never mind, bad example. To mention a daughters sexual preference in a way that brings her sexual practices to mind is unforgivable to any woman. It is like mentioniing that ones daughter has her period, or is taking fertility drugs, or lost her virginity. It is just bad, bad taste, vicious and there is not a woman in the world who doesn't know this..
And in addition his lame joke about Teresa, his lack of saying he loved her, her appearance after the debate,,well, women look at that and know that he is a man who sucks the oxygen out of the air and is poison to women.
Her hacking and coughing is an absolute disgrace! Why Brit doesn't dump her I don't know. It's so unprofessional. I don't care if she's sick or what. She should NOT be on t.v. Become a writer Mara

Last night, Mort was pi$$ed about Kerry invoking Mary Cheney. What happened to him tonight?
Maybe Mort drew the short straw of representing the RAT POV because Mara, as a woman, angrily declared she wasn't about to defend sKerry on this one!

In my opinion, it was very stupid of him to say that.
Personalizing the debate with issues from your own family is fine. But bringing in your opponents children is just dumb.
