Koppel interviews the Vietnamese people who were actually there, and their stories back up Kerry. Go Figure!
I know this will be an attempted hit-piece on the Swift Boat Vets. How do I know this? The ABC internal memo story that Drudge broke, Laura Ingraham spoke at length about on her show and that the MSM ignored. ABC will do whatever it takes to prop up their boy, Kerry.
I ask all of you to read the ABC report I linked, and to post what you think.
The first thing that struck me as odd is found on page 2 of the report:
"Less than a kilometer upriver is Nha Vi, a small hamlet. Vo Van Tam, now 54, was a local Viet Cong commander during the war. "
This action happened in February of 1969, 35 years ago. Vo Van Tam was 19 years old. Did the VC make 19 year olds VC commanders?
Another thing, Vietnam is run by the communists, right? Does anyone think the people who are living under the thumb of the communist leadership in Vietnam would say anything less than that their guys (the VC) were big, strong men who fought fiercely against the Americans?
And another thing from page 3 of the linked ABC report:
"Vo Ti Vi (Vo Van Tam's wife) said, just a few weeks after the attack, the Viet Cong raided a U.S. base stealing weapons and ammunition. The weapons remain in Nha Vi all these years later, she says, buried under her garden. "
I wonder if the Nightline "Truth" Squad dug up the woman's garden (after paying her a fair market value for her produce, of course) to verify her story?
I remain highly skeptical of Howdy Doody Koppell and ABC News' objectivity and honesty.
