WASHINGTON -- RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie issued the following statement today on the promised release of Teresa Heinz Kerry's tax returns:
"Throughout history, presidential candidates have disclosed income tax information prior to Election Day. We believe Americans value disclosure and transparency in campaigns. During the 2003 filing year, Sen. Kerry made a $6 million loan to his campaign based on the value of a home jointly owned with his wife.
Were it not for that infusion of cash John Kerry might not be on the campaign trail today. Because of her financial interest in the presidential campaign of her husband, Teresa Heinz Kerry pledged to disclose her tax information on October 15. Tomorrow is October 15 and Americans will find out if they plan to keep that promise."
I'll believe it when I see it! What was the point in waiting so long and announcing a specific date?
Lack of faith in Johnny Poodle.
Ping me when she does. I'll be waiting right here....not holding my breath.
I'm glad Ed Gillespie put a reminder to himself in Outlook to check back on Ter-RAY-zuh's promise. It should happen about the same time as Kerry's apology to Cheney's daughter.
"Cut & Run" Kerry also told Tim Russert that he would sign SF180. How long ago was that? I wouldn't hold your breath waiting on doc releases from the Kerry Kamp.
What was the point in waiting so long and announcing a specific date?
...need time to Doctor the files. Fudge the numbers. Make excuses. Juggle the books.
I hate to rain on Ed Gillespie's parade, but income tax returns are relatively recent inventions and I do not believe they were disclosed by candidates until more recently.
Income tax forms have been in the system since about 1913 when the income tax system began. What the hell are you talking about?
750 million couldn't entice me to marry that wretch:)
...................course I'm not Kerry.
George W Bush has a tall task to accomplish on Nov 2, that being defeating both John Kerry and the main stream media!
It is outrageous that the MSM has never demanded that Kerry sign the SF-180 to prove to all citizens that his service was 'honorable!'
Now that we approach the final days of the campaign we find news reports that Kerry may have had his Top Secret clearance revoked and that his discharge from the US Navy may have been 'less than honorable?'
That's quite a grip he has on her wrist. Looks like maybe she had just told him to go 'screw' himself.
Extensions for filing and/or quarterly filing.
. . . but no reason to expect we will learn anything about the world/wide financial machinations of this woman - who will sit next - to the Oval Office and on many occasions; will, no doubt; sit in it.
Incredible that more do not care. . .
OK, the income tax and thus tax returns have been around since 1913. Who was the first Presidential candidate to publish his? Eisenhower?
Hardly "throughout history" IMHO.
