EDT Kerry Wants To Appear On 'O'Reilly Factor'
Newsmax ^

Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry thinks Fox's Bill O'Reilly is the cat's meow, and the host hopes that Kerry's admiration will translate into a pre-election appearance on the top rated O'Reilly Factor.

"I like Bill O'Reilly," the Democratic presidential candidate told TV Guide. "I think he does a terrific job. I think he's got a very good show."

He told the Associated Press that he'd "love to" appear on "The O'Reilly Factor" and would ask his schedulers about it.

For his part, O'Reilly told AP he'd been trying for about two months to book Kerry while Kerry said he was unaware of any invitation.

O'Reilly told the AP he sensed some internal debate within the Kerry campaign about whether a Kerry appearance on the Factor would be a good idea.

It would be a trip into hostile territory, at least as far as the audience is concerned, the AP wrote.

According to a survey conducted this spring by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press, 72 percent of "The O'Reilly Factor" viewers describe themselves as conservative, and 4 percent said they were liberal.

"This would be a huge event for John Kerry, huge," O'Reilly told the wire service. "What other media forum would attract as much attention from him? Is there one?"

"I think Kerry's an honest guy," O'Reilly added. "You ask him a question and he tells you what he thinks. He's not a weasel. I just hope he's calling the shots in his campaign."

Kerry told TV Guide that Fox News Channel has been fair to him.

"I think during (the Swift Boat controversy) everybody got a little carried away," he said. "I can take my lumps. You just go out and keep on fighting and let the chips fall where they may."

O'reilly just has a huge ego and is pandering to the left because he thinks it will help his ratings. the more he talks smac about the right and panders to the left, the more right-wing viewers he'll lose and the left will think of him and the right-wing as spineless for not calling them on their lies but sucking up for ratings

The "O" is finished, he just doesn't know it yet. Fox should dump him as soon as possible. What did it for me is his treatment of the SwiftVets as not to be believed. What a dork. What this jerk doesn't realize is by interviewing Kerry he just might lose more than he realize.

With the left most likely behind the extoriton attempt against Bill O, why would he even bother with Kerry now. If Bill O is credible, he won't -- if he is just pandering to improve his position, then he might.

Let's watch and see what happens....:-)

Bill O'Reilly: "I think Kerry's an honest guy," O'Reilly added. "You ask him a question and he tells you what he thinks. He's not a weasel."

In other words, O'Reilly promises to have the K-Y available should Kerry be "in the mood for an interview."

Maybe after this interview O'Reilly will finally have enough information about the candidates to decide who he is going to vote for.

The only time I have watched BO in 2 years was to see President Bush. And that is about the only thing that I would tune in to him for.

Certainly not Kerry.

This was the subject of a thread last week. Newsmax is just a little tardy in reporting it. I repeat here my comment from last week.

I suggest we Freep the deal by sending O'Reilly one marshmallow wrapped in a Form 180 with a yellow Post-it Note, inscribed "Fair and balanced--you decide."

Remember, when Kerry finds himself 5 points behind, O'Reilly will be his Hail Mary move. Right now he has refused to be interviewd by OReilly because he thinks that the momentum is with him. But after last night debate defeat, the Taxachussets Gigolo is seeing his momentum evaporate and Bush has now the Big Mo. So, expect Bill "Telephone Sex" O'Reilly interviewing the Boston Hustler the weekend before the election.

From what I've been reading on FR recently a large number of freepers would see O'Reilly hosting Sen. Kerry as simply another attempt by O'Reilly to align himself more with the liberal media.

Now here is where my question comes in. I haven't been able to watch O'Reilly for about the past six months or so as I am currently without a tv. (I have a lot more free time now, most of which is spent either studying or here lurking). It's been working out really well, getting all my news from various Internet sources. The only thing I've really missed is being able to watch The Factor and Hannity & Colmnes every night.

So what exactly has O'Reilly done recently that has made people here so mad at him? Whatever it is it can't be good news for him with 72% of his audience being Conservative.

Was the problem with the swift vets that he didn't pick up the story for too long? Or did he actually come out against them? Is there a more liberal trend in his show?

The archives here don't really make that clear to me, and quite honestly I'm having a hard time figuring what posts are valid gripes and which ones just come from people that never liked him. I can certainly see that, he does have a large ego, but that doesn't bother me as much as him having said derogatory things about the swifties, etc.

"There goes O'Blowhard again" certainly fills me on what the poster thinks of him, but not the reasoning behind that view. But of course that is the nature of the Internet. If anyone could take pity on a poor grad student who can't afford cable (for both monetary and time reasons) and is out of the loop and fill me in I'd greatly appreciate it.
