When Kerry started talking about his mother, me being only a man, didn't pick-up on the anger felt by wives; I just thought he was awkwardly trying to be sentimental. My wife reacted with outrage and disbelief (I still didn't get it). Today, while I was doing my usual perusal of blogs and talk shows, I finally understood. I suspect even leftist women had the same reaction. Hopefully, this will have a ripple effect come Nov. 2.

So, for all men, thank John Kerry for making this blunder, and file it away for future reference.

Not only did he NOT talk about Teresa Heinz Kerry, but he complimented Laura Bush! Then (on FOX at least) there was a one second shot of Teresa Heinz Kerry - slouching and frowning. This was clearly contrasted to the brilliant smile of Laura Bush.

My wife noticed this right away. IMHO, this was a far worse gaffe than the Mary Cheney gaffe.

Funny you said you didn't catch it at your house .......being a man and all.........

It rippled with me right off the bat and my husband missed it too.......I think this is not going to be good for the women's vote for Kerry. He publically humiliated terrezza last night and it was one of the final messages of the night that's why it's still lingering..........
