Blue Star Moms will be accepting donations for care packages to be sent to the troops for the holidays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.
The theme for the holiday mailing is "sox it to 'em again." Anyone bringing a donation of a new 12-pack of socks will receive a free ticket to the Grand National Rodeo at the Cow Palace on Nov. 3. The evening performance will feature a salute to the armed forces.
Blue Star Moms are also in need of monetary donations for postage and supplies for the troops. Those who bring a $5 cash donation will receive a yellow ribbon magnet for the car.
