You know what is more serious, I just got an email on this. If you register to vote and then actually do vote, you name goes into the government data base. Now everyone knows get called up for jury duty right after you vote, but that is just the start of it.

Once you have registered and actually voted, the government secretly adds your name to the roles of those eligible to be drafted. So in effect, by voting you are exposing yourself and greatly increasing your odds that you will be drafted when the draft goes into effect after this election.

I've been trying to find the copy of the email. I did see it mentioned on DU but can not find the reference there now for some reason. Likely the DU pulled it because they do not want young people to know this.

I'll try and find the email and get a copy to you. But you are right that it may not be a good idea to vote - even if not for the reasons you stated.
