I just talked to a co-worker who was going to vote Democrat like she has all her life. She is also a devout Christian who is very open about her faith.

She watched the debates and just told me that she can see that Bush is the one that should be President!

YEAH!!

I think the hidden truth beneath the "Who Won the Debate" poll numbers is that people saw again why they've always secretly liked George Bush. He might not be the best debater, but he showed last night who he really was. He was good natured, warm and positive with a well grounded character. In short...he's likeable. An interesting indicator of that is in my local paper today. I live in Atlantic City NJ, and the local rag is a typical, liberal birdcage liner. For each debate they've had a panel of undecided voters say who they thought won. Debates #1 and #2 were 5 to 1 in favor of Kerry. Debate #3 was 4 for Kerry, 3 for Bush and 2 said it was a tie. To quote from the article, "Viewers gave Kerry a much greater edge on his ability to think on his feet, while Bush had an edge on likeability and charm."
Bush needed the second debate to re-energize his base. He did. In the third debate, he needed to appeal to midwestern America and women. He did. I'm sure it will pay off Nov 2.
