Thank you!!! I don't understand the 2% here that are somehow portraying this as something other than a Bush win. Not only was this a Bush win, but it was a very convincing win for W! I have no idea what in the hell they were watching!

Oh, I understand them VERY well. They're part of a very small crew of naysayers that you'll always find posting doom and gloom about the GOP's future in general and the President's reelection chances in particular in any number of threads all over FR. They often swarm to the attack in unison against any dissenters from their pessimistic creed in a curiously synchronous tag-team manner (think FReepmail), and it's always the same old song over and over and over: *the GOP is doomed; our guy got creamed; when-oh-when are we going to have a "perfect" conservative candidate as opposed to the merely "good" ones we have now*; and so on.
I agree with you completely, BTW: it was a clear win for the President tonight, IMO. He did exactly what he had to do, and Kerry barely held his own. Can't wait until Nov. 2nd! It's going to be a momentous night for the future of our country--and the world. Cheers.
