In my opinion, a letter would be better. The reason I say that is because I did spend some time yesterday calling and e-mailing stations and advertisers and some of them were immediately ticked off at me; that is until they found out I was calling in SUPPORT of showing Stolen Honor. Their demeanor changed immediately once they were aware of that. They became much more cordial. I think the threats and rudeness being slung around by the dems just may backfire on them. JMO.

You know what's funny, I just jumped over to the Dim sight that was referenced at the bottom of your post and as I was reading, I came across this pearl:

oops (none / 0)

left out my main agreement with your point...
they are clearly focusing on a war 30 YEARS AGO versus the CURRENT ONE RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE.

this needs to be the frame for the counter attack. it is utterly offensive.

My question is this, who made Vietnam the focus of this election? Kerry made a big deal out of his service but now, when something might be damaging to him, everything should be about THIS war.

Interesting.

First:

No matter what they mount, they will not stop the airing of this program.

Why, I spoke a rep a week ago at Sinclair. This conversation I had is now confirmed with Mark Hyman's conversation with Britt Hume's show on 10/11/2004.

The entire piece when it is aired is already paid for. Subsequently boycotts would have no effect, and in addition they really don't work anyway. I was in the business for many years, we never sweated them.

Part of the "game" the demos are playing is a "threat of of this and that. It won't work. Sinclair isn't airing the entire documentary, only bits and pieces with interviews and commentary. They have invited John Kerry to be interviewed and to comment. His campaign has refused.

There is no law being broken - this isn't being presented as anything but a news story. The Veterans who put this film together have a beef with a John Kerry as a presidential candidate. Two of these men are Congressional Medal Honor awardees. In Mark's words, "this is a human interest story, and news, there is no problem."

All the major networks were approached to do a story on the documentary but of course refused - their bias in the way naturally.

So in the end no matter what the DNC or partisan members of the FEC or FCC say or do, there is NOTHING they can do to stop the airing of this program. The show WILL go on.

Mr. Kerry should take the opportunity to "clear the air" instead of wasting a lot of money and energy trying to stop it. Again, it won't work.

Subsequently the maker of the documentary has been flooded with requests from local markets wanting to show the film or do a story on it. Thus the "cat is out of the bag".

As Hannity says, "Let your heart not be troubled".

I noticed that some of the advertizers also had commercials during Rather's 60 Minutes II show with the pool secretary (Memogate).

It took me an hour to do it, but I did!

To All Concerned:
As I am politically active, I am aware that your company, sponsors,
advertisers and affiliates are currently the object of a propaganda war because of the film 'Stolen Honor'.
As a former member of the United States Army, having served in the Middle East
with the 101st Airborne during Desert Storm, I am keenly interested in viewing this film.

Some people from the Democratic side of the aisle are protesting
this decision of the Sinclair group to show this film.
As a former NCO in our Nations Army, the son of a man who served in the Korean War, brother of an active duty Lt. Colonel,
and neighbor to many many servicemen & women here in Fayetteville, NC next door to Ft. Bragg,
I feel that it is essential that any information bearing
on a candidate for the office of Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces be made know to the voting public.

It is well known that Senator Kerry protested the Vietnam War on his return from the theater of action.
What is not so well known is what occured after that,
and what results his protest earned for those still in Vietnam.

This is an important issue, and has a direct bearing on his possibly taking High Office.

Please proceed with the airing of the film 'Stolen Honor'

Thank You
