Wow...sadly our PC culture would keep most NEA teachers, and probably also some parents from following-up on the credentials of an odd ME sub.

I would hope that with the Beslan horror and the info. from last week regarding schools; that everyone with children and teachers are aware of subs, contractors, delivery people, and any other odd occurances that give them a bad gut feeling. Far easier to be embarrassed and wrong, than not report something and have something horrible happen.

I hope you are wrong about the follow up on subs. I am a recently retired elem. teacher. Security was always a concern in the schools where I taught. There was little scoffing or concern for PC when it came to safety. Most of the nuts we dealt with, however, were parents. Nevertheless, school personnel, regardless of political leanings, MUST now be extremely vigilant.
