Indianapolis, October 19 - A stash of military explosives and weapons turned up in the middle of Connersville. Police say the explosives, used typically by the military for training, were found right in the middle of town just off the courthouse square.
Jim Wulff of Connersville says he found the explosives "right out there in the open. There was like eight smoke grenades, there was some artillery simulators and some flash bangs."
On Tuesday the Indiana State Police bomb squad destroyed some of those explosives in a training exercise.
So how did all that stuff, plus three shotguns and other military items, find its way into a downtown Connersville office building? Police think the former owner, a one time lawyer and Army reservist, may have left the stuff when he closed his practice about three years ago.
