I was figuring they wouldn't raise it. I can't imagine the uproar on the Democrats side. It would be denounced as scare tactics aimed at making the U.S. people vote Bush.

That said, I don't think the nationwide threat level means anything anymore. Levels have been raised at specific industry and in NYC/N. Jersey/DC for some time. I would imagine that these tapes may have led them to step up security in certain areas.

I am soooo unprepared. I put it off and something happened leaving me in a position where I just don't have enough time to get ready, assuming there will be some kind of an attack in the near future. I don't even have masks or bottled water. I was at least able to stock up on a nice arsenal of insulin and related meds and supplies for my baby though (my baby being 12, heh).

I saw tht Gadhan, or whatever its name is, tape this morning or last night night on Fox. I have to agree with someone else's post yesterday I think that it is not Gadhan but rather the same guy in the Jakel image. The eyes are different and the width/height of the forhead is different. Albeit, the dude in the tape looks familar and sound familar. I think we have seen him before I just can't place it.

Spain's election day was March 14th. The Madrid attacks occurred on the 11th. (3 days difference)

Chechnya's election day was August 29th. The twin plane bombings in Russia occurred on the 25th (4 days difference)

Today is the 29th (4 days out).

It is likely that chemical plus conventional high explosives may be used. The after-math of the attack may take days to clear."

Thanks for posting this. I just caught this on the other thread and was going to hop over here with it. This is serious business. I think it is a mistake not to raise the threat level. Here we have a threat from OBL himself and we're not going to raise the alert? We have raised it in the past for less than this. God forbid something happens.

So why aren't they raising the terror alert? This doesn't make sense. As someone else already said, they've raised it for a lot less reason in the past. If this is political, it's rediculous.

The latest threat talks about how we won't be able to count the bodies. A chemical attack would deliver on those numbers. This is deadly serious.
