Voter Registrations Possibly Trashed

Voter Registrations Trashed

(Oct. 12) -- Employees of a private voter registration company allege that hundreds, perhaps thousands of voters who may think they are registered will be rudely surprised on election day. The company claims hundreds of registration forms were thrown in the trash.

Anyone who has recently registered or re-registered to vote outside a mall or grocery store or even government building may be affected.

The I-Team has obtained information about an alleged widespread pattern of potential registration fraud aimed at democrats. Thee focus of the story is a private registration company called Voters Outreach of America, AKA America Votes.

The out-of-state firm has been in Las Vegas for the past few months, registering voters. It employed up to 300 part-time workers and collected hundreds of registrations per day, but former employees of the company say that Voters Outreach of America only wanted Republican registrations.

Two former workers say they personally witnessed company supervisors rip up and trash registration forms signed by Democrats.

"We caught her taking Democrats out of my pile, handed them to her assistant and he ripped them up right in front of us. I grabbed some of them out of the garbage and she tells her assisatnt to get those from me," said Eric Russell, former Voters Outreach employee.

Eric Russell managed to retrieve a pile of shredded paperwork including signed voter registration forms, all from Democrats. We took them to the Clark County Election Department and confirmed that they had not, in fact, been filed with the county as required by law.

So the people on those forms who think they will be able to vote on Election Day are sadly mistaken. We attempted to speak to Voters Outreach but found that its office has been rented out to someone else.

The landlord says Voters Outreach was evicted for non-payment of rent. Another source said the company has now moved on to Oregon where it is once again registering voters. It's unknown how many registrations may have been tossed out, but another ex-employee told Eyewitness News she had the same suspicions when she worked there.

It's going to take a while to sort all of this out, but the immediate concern for voters is to make sure you really are registered.

Call the Clark County Election Department at 455-VOTE orclick here to see if you are registered.

The company has been largely, if not entirely funded, by the Republican National Committee. Similar complaints have been received in Reno where the registrar has asked the FBI to investigate.

Funny how they forgot to add key elements of the story:
The focus of the story is a private registration company called Voters Outreach of America, AKA America Votes.

Subject: A possibly false story on your website.

I read with interest your story authored by a George Knapp (one of the I-Team, apparently) who wrote "Voter Registrations Possibly Trashed"
http://www.klas-tv.com/Global/story.asp?S=2421595&nav=168YRvNZ

It alleges an out of state polling firm conducted a vast voter registration drive and some employees disposed of Democrat registrants. The company is alleged to be Voters Outreach of America, AKA America Votes.

Google knows nothing of Voters Outreach of America, but "America Votes" is a treasure-trove. In particular it is a who's who of the American left.
http://www.americavotes.org/

There is no way that any such organization would ever associate with anyone even related to a Republican by marriage. It is Democrat all the way.

Furthermore, this George Knapp appears to be quite the UFO enthusiast.

You might want to know.

There have been a number of stories recently that the group ACORN (a link on the America Votes webpage) has actually registered people, most particularly in Ohio, and has discarded the Republican registrations. Other allegations have been made against ACT, but with less evidence.

Given the association with ACORN, I would suggest that your Republican webreaders and TV viewers might be more interested in checking their own registration. You might want to suggest this as a public service.

The political motivation for such a story is obvious -- they want to be able to assert that "everybody does it" when they themselves are caught. As a CBS affiliate, I am sure you are keenly aware of the importance of high journalistic standards and will do what you can to ferret out this story that is so malodorous that the smell test can be done from miles away.

Yours,
--AmishDude

GEORGE SORO. My theory is, the billionaire communist said he would spend all his money to beat W. He doesn't have to do it through ads. He can pay money to people throughout the country to register illegal voter (See problem in Colorado) Then set up scenarios where people say republicans are trashing democRATS registrations. All they would have to do is get enough people to play the game. These are evil people looking for power and don't care how they get it. They slander innocent people and walk over there bodies to get where there going. We really need to pray that God exposes who the evil ones are & an October surprise would be really nice about now. Maybe the big guy knows when the timing will be perfect and maybe He'll do it Himself.

My sister works for KLAS and babysits for George Knapp.

She watches his kids or she makes sure he stays on his meds?

"so most people can go and find out if their registration is current."

But if they weren't, it would be too late to register now.

I see James Carville's fingerprints all over this. Typical Democrat transference.

This sounds like another Michael Moore screen play, complete with actors following his script. Perhaps they should have staged it outside Dan Blather's office to make certain it was given air time by the MSM.

Get enough people believing that the Republicans are doing this kind of thing, then when kerry loses the election they use it to fuel their 101 lawsuits that are surely coming.

You're right! Don't get me wrong, if this is true the offenders should get what's coming. But, ripping up infront of others, not to sound condescending, but Republicans are smarter than that! Of course, true Republicans would never do such a thing anyway.

I thought I had read about that America Votes outfit. I thought they were RAT; that's why I thought this sounded weird. Maybe the RATs are floating this story so it doesn't look like they have a monopoly on voter fraud.....and so they have some new contrived outrage of the week.

Sent an email to them. This is just poor journalism or an outright attempt at fraud against the public.

I know of no private organization that is as high profile as ACORN, ACT or America Votes that is on the right conducting vast registration drives. Not even close.

The story was terribly written. It was so sprinkled with "Republican" that I thought the klas website was hacked. Unfortunately, it looks like they not only ran with this, but it has video, which suggests it made it to air.

Welcome to Free Republic.
It is curious that you recently signed up and chose this article
being negative towards republicans as your firsr post.
It makes your motives suspicious.
There are hundreds of similar stories out there naming
democrat groups participating in voter fraud.

Well done, AmishDude!

Another George Soros funded attempt to thwart an honest election. It's a joke this article identifies the outfit as "Republican".

See 35: This is a genuine article on a TV station website and AS1790 is suspicious as well. It's rare to see such bad journalism on such a website. "Ted" might be the Buckhead of this story.

Well, maybe not.

Come on guys this is the best post I've seen all day. I got everybody's juices flowing and gave us something to do. The fact is this is a real story being cover by some nut-job at KLAS TV in Vegas. The guy that posted it was only bringing it to everyones attention. Don't shoot the messenger
