Someone explain to me how a man can register 35 x's and it matter. Isn't it a situation where he may register as many times as he wants but can only vote at his precinct once? I am confused...

It's easy... Assume that John Harold Slomski, democrat at large, registers in his 3rd precinct under his real name and he votes there in person on Nov 2.

But he also registers as:

John Slomski

John Slomsky

Jon Slomski

Jon Slomsky

John Harold Slomski

Jon Harold Slomski

John H. Slomski

Jon H. Slomski

And the variations go on, and on, and on......

And he votes all of those alias's via absentee ballot?

Possible? Maybe.....

How about a very public proclamation by some government figures, reminding everyone of the jail time and fines associated with voter fraud, and that the state, local and federal agencies will be pursuing this vigorously. Scare the hell out of anyone who is planning to do this, and then follow up on it (unlike the non-follow up that took place after 2000, when everyone on Free Republic predicted this was going to happen 4 years hence).

Possible, and likely. And, even if he doesn't vote all the alias's, there are plenty of unsupervised democratically-controlled pricincts that will vote "on his behalf" at closing time.
