this isnt surprising....
Unfortunately, this is a result of 3 things...
1) Heightened political rhetoric
2) energized political hacks getting out, saying that if one side or the other loses, the world will end
and
3) the 2000 election was so hotly contested, we will be about a 75% electoral turnout this year should these numbers hold...

My wife just got 2 absentee ballots. One with Full Name, one with initials. Guess she can vote twice this year.

I think it's mostly a result of the fact that the Republicans misguidedly let the "irregularities" of the last election slide thinking it would help unify us after a contentious election AND the fact that the Dems know they have to cheat much bigger to win this time.
