You know it will be going bad for the Red Sox when they start throwing at people. You mean like Clemens throwing a splintered bat at Mike Piazza?

No, I'm talking about Pedro Martinez and Bronson Arroyo. Its the Red Sox MO, I might be wrong, but I do believe they were second in the American League in hit batsmen this year. With that pitching staff, what a joke.
To: freebilly
The Red Sox had the 3rd best record in the majors. The World Series is for the 1st and 2nd best.
Is that why the Wild Card Marlins beat the Yank Me's last year...?
Teams that aren't the first or second best do get into the Series. But being third best certainly isn't a bragging qualification for the Series -- which was my point.

Martinez has always pitched up and in. So did Bob Gibson and Don Drysdale.
This year Pedro Astacio, for the Red Sox, and Yankees Brad Halsey and Manager Joe Torre were tossed from a game for intentionally throwing at batters.
It ain't just the Red Sox who've thrown at people.
When Billy Martin was managing the Yankees he ordered his pitchers to hit opposing batters all the time.

I still love the line from the convention:
~"Sir, this is Yankee Stadium. Here, we throw from the mound."

Steinbrenner's still a jerk. George may not be the most easy-going guy in the world, but unlike many onwers who treat their teams as little more than tax write-offs, he cares about one thing and one thing only: winning. ......and he's far from the only owner that can afford to shell out the kind of jack necessary to get the job done on a consistent basis, just the one most likely to put his money where his mouth is.
The best owner in pro sports, bar none.

That is too far-fetched. The Red Sox are playing the Yankees. It wont happen.

Be careful, you might offend some Boston fans.

offend some Boston fans. Isn't that the whole idea of this thread? ;)
To: Mr. Mojo
No doubt Petey will have to pitch well tomorrow. If he doesn't, you have every right to repeat that line. He's rested now and has already pitched well this postseason against an Angels line-up that can hit.

I have to admit those Red Sox fans who complained are pansy's. What do they expect its the the biggest rivalry in sports. I know I see alot of yankees suck t-shirt's at fenway a couple of weeks ago.
