"My wife has just come back from a business trip in England. She faced a lot of aggression just for being American. The English think every American votes for Bush. In London she was pushed and spat on when they heard her accent. This was ironic because she didn't even vote for our president. I did. It's too bad your wife had to experience what our Vietnam HEROES had to experience when they came back TO THEIR OWN COUNTRY, due to the likes of John Kerry.

I'm in London all the time and I've never had a problem. The most I get is a taxi driver telling me how bad Bush is. Be careful about generalizing. I know a lot of Brits that are conservative.

Hey Jack, if you think we believe this cock and bull story you just told, you need to get off that crack you're smoking.

Our first President was not particularly popular in England. Our sixteenth President was not the most popular either. He paid for it with his life. Our forty second President was very popular around the world. He also did nothing to protect the American people and readily traded missile guidance technology for campaign contributions.

In London she was pushed and spat on...

Someone shoved and spit on your wife and you weren't on the next flight over. What kind of man are you. How does someone with a last name like Finnegan take that from some Brits. Why, if I didn't know any better I would think you are a spineless, puny, girlie man, liberal.

The trouble is: our president has made the US really unpopular.

Why didn't you say so?

In that case, we should all just forget this ever happened, and beg the forgiveness of Islamofascist terrorists everywhere.

"unpopular...??" What?? Is that a disease...are you 15 years old, that popularity should matter??? Is 'unpopular' an unbearable alternative to 'dead', to 'subjugated by Muslims', to 'force fed a religion not of your own choosing', to 'losing your right to vote' or 'leaving your home without a sheet over your head'..??? DUHHH!!!

Don't go to Europe. Seriously, it's going to get worse. I've heard Europeans say that it's Bush's fault now but if we re-elect him it's all American's fault as we will have approved of his policies.

Frankly I'm sick and tired of Europeans trying to influence our election. When Bush is re-elected, and he will be, just don't plan any trips to Europe. If you have to go there for business, stay out of bars and public transport. The European economy is sick now. A fall in American tourism is just the ticket to push a sick Europe over the edge.

Your wife was not spat on because she was an American.

She was spat on because of her behaviour.

You should have chosen Franceasthe country she visited, it would have made your lie a little more believable. I guess Tony Blair's wife gets spat upon all the time. Not.!

Oh....may it be.

I've been over there too. Bush is not the cause of anti-Americanism, but rather the combination of a screed-writing press and a public that believes everything they see on TV. Television came late to Europe, they have very few voices, and 90% of Europeans cannot discuss Bush vs. Kerry with any significant knowledge base at all. I find them, on the whole, grossly ignorant of American politics. My aquaintance is with France, a counrty which just 2 decades ago was still giving 25% of their votes to an avowed Stalinist. Exceedingly stupid people.

----(But great cheese and a gorgeous countryside). As they say: "how odd of God to waste France on the French."

I just got back from London a week ago and got the opposite reaction from everyone I spoke to. Taxi drivers and pub patrons make for better conversation I guess.

"our president has made the US really unpopular"

Horse hockey. That's akin to saying that the police negotiator is a murderer when a cowardly thug shoots his hostage.

The Left and its complicit media is largely responsible for portraying President Bush in the worst possible light and "making the US really unpopular." They're using every means at their disposal that they dare use. It's as effective a set of ploys as those they were using on Saddam in the 12 year run-up, while their leaders became even richer and more elitist.

All that deserves to have as little tangible effect on President Bush as it would have had on its continuation with Saddam.

Incredible picture. We need more reminders of September 11, 2001. It seems as though so many have forgotten why we are at war. Thank you for posting it.

Well, if Americans based everything we did on whether or not we're popular with the British, we'd still be colonies.

"Tell Aleksander Kwasniewski of Poland we're going alone."

Kerry set that one up. The RATS were trying to get Bush to pronounce the the Polish Presidents name incorrectly so that they could pounce on Bush. Kerry jumped, Bush moved and Kerry landed on his face.

This is a war, a WAR on TERROR, not a popularity contest.

Do you think this precious child or her family give a rat's @$$ if anyone spit on your wife? Popular? You should be ashamed.
