This article has been posted at Little Green Footballs, too. Some of the posters there also doubt her veracity, based on either their own experiences in the UK not matching hers, or because of her profession making her a likely "drama queen"-as well as making her more apt to run into moonbats. OTOH, her experiences do coincide with many editorials and comments about antiamericanism in different EU countries, as well as the experiences of some of the LGF posters. I think it is possible that she may be conflating a few personal experiences with tales she's been told from other American friends and acquaintances.

It is an amazing article. I have visited London every year for the last thirty years and have had many experiences with anti-Americanism - but nothing like this. I must admit, though, that last year - with the upcoming state visit by Bush - the Brits seemed to go wild. There were protests in the streets every day followed by buses with bullhorns going up and down Piccadilly screaming out Bush-hatred and Michael Moore having them queue up in the droves at Waterstones. And don't even mention the ire raised when a Presidential helicopter mussed up one of the Queen's gardens!

A conversation I had with the usual seemingly polite Brit ended up with him spitting out Bush/Blair hatred until I stopped him dead by mentioning the unspeakable Galloway.

On the plus side, I recently found a conservative radio talk show host (it may have been BBC London, but who knows) there and was pleasantly surprised. Can't wait for my next trip in November!
