I'm afraid political correctness has reached the terminal phase in Britain. Ultimately, political correctness is a suicide pact one is expected to join. Many intellectuals and politicians hate their own society so much that they welcome terrorists who would destroy everything. I think they long for suicide, which is why they are horrified whenever a common citizen defends himself against a criminal and it explains why they excuse violent criminals and embrace terrorists who almost make Hitler seem moderate.
