Among them was ABC News, which either has a very short memory or is willing to cover up what they know about the connection. And they know plenty they just wont talk about it. The fact is, ABC interviewed bin Laden and had disclosed the ties that existed between Baghdad and the master terrorist as far back as 1999 when Bill Clinton was president.

And to continue to beat a dead horse...If the Pubbies don't use this stuff in the debates or as fodder for ads, then it's their own fault that the polls are so close. This infuriates me worse than the lies that the MSM and Kerryites are spewing.

I agree... but lemme ask you this:
Do you think this is what they are holding back (not this article, specifically, but ACTUAL DEMONSTRATEABLE TIES between Iraq and Bin Laden) for their October surprise?
If so, Do you think it will move votes?
Look. This is real simple, OK?
Reporting this stuff, or for that matter reminding people that you already reported this stuff, would be helpful to the Bush presidential campaign, and therefore would not be objective journalism, which is very, very important to ABC News.

Two comments from me (VOA)
1. I wonder if these quotes are from the interview done by John Miller (the ABC correspondent
that did an interview with bin Laden...before bin Laden was famous; in the 1998-9 time frame?)
Miller did a FANTASTIC one-hour special on bin Laden after 9-11...then was
stolen away by Bratten of the Los Angeles Police Department.
2. I do remember hearing that in his declaration of war on the USA bin Laden did wail a lot
about how the USA was being unfair to Iraq.
That was sort of strange seeing how bin Laden was an extremely devout Wahhabist Muslim
and Saddam was a fairly secular Arab (despite his public protestations after Gulf War I).

but they could show both sides. show Kerry's claims that there were no ties, along with every other bigwig that makes the same claim, and then show a bit of the report. or vice versa. either way, ABC would be able to show both sides of the issues, remain objective, and let Americans determine if they trust Kerry's claim or that of bin Ladin himself.
they should indeed use it
The media lies in their news coverage, in their editorials and sixty minutes type programs. You have managed to figure that out.
But you apparently believe the MSM would never ever d lie with their media sponored polls.... Would they?
OBL's fatwa, given on the anniversary of U.S. ground war in Iraq.
I agree, it is like they are afraid to say anything. It makes Bush more guilty. The Bush team could use all this information about Kerry in 1971,they have ways to get it out.If they lose this election it their own fault.
Thank you for posting this! Now I have something to write about tonight...
I don't think this would move votes.
I think what would, is fiercely hammering home the fact that Kerry missed over 75% of his intelligence committee meetings.
Thanks so much for posting this. This is more ammunition against a lib who swears by the MSM.
I believe that it can move votes, when it is publicized. When voters are told repeatedly "Bush lies" in debates, and they point to the Al-Qaeda-Iraq connection" as a lie, then THEY also believe it can move votes.
Whether or not it will move votes, though, the truth needs to be told. If the truth counts, then it must be told for it's own sake. The story about Kerry missing the votes, I believe, is more important just in terms of what kind of man he is, and what kind of president he will be -
A Slacker.
I'm sure Peter Jennings can't wait to discuss on his evening snooze show.
